Today is my birthday. I went Georgetown nails to get my birthday nails done. First, if you want a 3D design please don’t come here because they can’t do it and they are not going to inform you before hand. Secondly, I was able to get my nails and toes done while my friend was only able to get her nails done because her nail tech took so long. On top of that my friend wanted a simple design and her nail tech couldn’t do it. When I spoke to the manager, she told me that it was my responsibility to show the nail tech the design I wanted beforehand which is not true.
Any nail shop I’ve been to asks me beforehand what I want so that they can put me with the right nail tech. It is common sense. The manager wanted to argue me down about the responsibility of her techs ON MY BIRTHDAY when they were in the wrong and lack the talent that I was expecting.
If your techs have limitations it’s the shop’s responsibility to address that, not the customers.
0/10 would not recommend

UPDATE*** The owner Dawn addressed the concerned less than 2 minutes after this reviews and took accountability for the inconvenience. She apologized and immediately had a nail tech service me. ❤️The is where my reviewed and experienced changed. ELSA WAS AMAZING!!!! Extremely professional and attentive to my nail needs. She was polite, sweet and very good at my request. My french manicure toes look great. I will definitely be coming back to specifically request her. My advice if your new to this establishment, request a nail tech by name or check out other reviews because they have very good staff but it seems you have to get a nail tech by name.
Unfortunately I scheduled a 12 p.m. appointment, arrived at 12 and was not greeted until 12:16, then again was address at 12:32 for my pedicure and was sat in a chair with water in the bowl. While 2 ladies who came in the salon after me where being serviced while I'm sitting in cold water waiting for someone to start my pedicure and it's 12:43 p.m. as I'm posting and no one has stated anything to me. I will not specifically state that I'm the only colored one in the salon right now but the inconvenience and uncomfortable feeling I'm having on June 19th is truly unfortunate because this service was already paid for so I can't just leave. I pray this business understands the community in which it serves and learn proper customer service skills.

As someone who values well-crafted and thoughtful reviews, I would like to share my thoughts on my experiences at the Georgetown Beauty Bar. My decision to choose this establishment for a birthday treat (my first visit) was not made lightly; extensive research preceded my booking, given my unfamiliarity with the area's offerings.
My appointment commenced on a high note, thanks to Anna, the nail technician responsible for my pedicure. Approaching an intricate design request with commendable enthusiasm and creativity, Anna exceeded expectations. Her willingness to embrace a challenge and add her unique touch not only resulted in a beautiful pedicure but also a wonderful experience at the salon. Anna’s professionalism and skill are commendable, and she is, without a doubt, a technician I would specifically request for future visits, as I did for my second visit. My gratitude extends to her for making my first visit a memorable one and for contributing positively to my special day.
My second visit was on May 3, and Anna once again slayed. Just like last time, despite feeling hesitant and unsure of the design, she not only did it, but she played around with the design, which I really appreciate. I bring the designs as inspiration and I really appreciate it when the final result is creative and unique for me. I really like working with Anna. She’s not only talented, but she’s also very sweet. She’s going to be my go-to person for all my future visit.
The images below include the pedicure I got during my first visit, and the manicure I got done during my most recent (2nd) visit at the salon. I’ve also included images of the designs that inspired them.

Went in for deluxe pedicure. Two technicians using the same nail clear nail polish. They used a previously used towel on me; towels in generous were raggedy, did not address callus’ despite getting the premier package. Cut a nail too deep. Did take time to massage feet which is appreciate. Unfortunately price point does not equal quality or effort.

My manicure lasted 4 days- usually it lasts 10-14 days. While I was getting my nails done, another customer walked into the shop to say her pedicure (that she had at the salon) was already peeling off... on day two!! Never going to waste my money here again.

I decided to try gel x for the first time. I had a really good experience there and everyone was so nice. It ended up taking only 2 hours which I was really happy about. However, I ended up paying $75 for my set when online they said it would cost $68. I got no design or anything special, just nails and some polish so that’s the first thing I was confused about. Also, after only 2 days one of the nails started lifting on the side and I was really upset about this because I had heard gel x was supposed to last 3-4 weeks. I glued it back on with some nail glue and thought everything would be fine. But no, only 6 days after I had gotten them done almost half of them popped off throughout the day! I knew that they said that if something happened in under a week that I could come in and get it fixed for free, but i was on vacation and would not get back in the under one week timeline. I was really disappointed that my nails lasted less that a week and I had to pay more than they said I did.

This place used to be Georgetown nails and now it has expanded and renovated and blinged the place up. It offers every service you could want and it is still the best place in the city to get your nails done. I’d never go anywhere else.

I came here expecting a sanitary experience. Meaning new tools, nail files, pumice bar etc. not the case, they used dirty nail files and buffers on me, as well as other dirty tools. The people were very nice, and my manicure was well done. I’m just disappointed by the price and the unclean tools. The price was higher than their published rates on their website. Shame on me for not verifying that when I arrived.

Solid neighborhood nail salon. Relatively clean but most of the pedicure chairs are broken. I love that they’ll do your mani/pedi at the same time if you request it. However, I like to get a dip mani and regular pedi in the same color and the lack of color options in regular polish is forcing me to try other salons.

Clean place. 2 stars for the wack quality. My nails fell off after 4 days of doing regular maintenance like washing my face and making my bed in the morning . Nails normally last me over a month.
