The EP Federal Credit Union was originally chartered in 1935 by 10 employees of the Bureau of Engraving and Printing for the purpose of 'promoting thrift and providing a source of credit' for the employees there. During the late 1970s and 1980s, the credit union made several charter changes through mergers and expansions to include other organizations and grow our potential field of membership. Two major groups were the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the students and faculty of Catholic University of America and American University.
