I left a bad review last year because the owner — Kevin Sheridan — was serving alcohol to minors (available to find quickly on Google), a clear ABRA violation, and hated the sandwich I ordered. I then received a bullying call from the owner using a fake number accusing me of being an alcoholic, explaining “I’ve been there before, trust me. I know what it’s like to be an alcoholic.” I don’t drink, nor do I know Kevin Sheridan, and I’m glad I don’t.

I must start by saying that I love Dupont Market and come here on a weekly basis, this is also my first time ever leaving a review for a restaurant. The food is great and the staff is friendly and helpful. However, I was EXTREMELY disappointed when I went in and experienced how condescending the owner(?) is to his employees. Barking orders and speaking down to them in front of all of the customers. I can’t imagine how he treats them when there isn’t an audience. This review is not to dissuade people from going to Dupont Market (although now I will seriously consider supporting this man’s business anymore), but rather a reminder to be friendly, tip well, and don’t be afraid to speak up when you see the workers being treated unfairly when they work so hard. Very upsetting experience.

Great local shop, every neighborhood should have a Dupont Market. Fairly priced, above average sandwiches. Staff always quick with a recommendation. Deli shelves stocked with essentials, and good wine selection. I always try to stop in when i'm in the area.

Been going here for years and never been disappointed. Such a consistently solid custom sandwich place for lunch. I got a takeaway sandwich for a friend who is visiting from out of town - and he said: "I'd like to think I'm a sandwich guy - and you know, this was an overall excellent sandwich. I think the proportions of each of the ingredients was exceptionally balanced. The bread in particular was well toasted, high quality. I liked that the size of each bread was well sized. Good quality turkey, cheese, perfectly ripe avocados. As a sandwich, nothing slid out of place - it was a very "neat eat." You could say that if I made this sandwich at home, I'd be extremely proud."

We arrived this morning at opening and enjoyed the smoked salmon bagel and a sausage breakfast sandwich. Staff were kind and food was delicious. Everyone in the neighborhood stopped to chat and there seemed to be a lot of regulars. We took a hot Italian sandwich to go. Hours later it was still delightfully delicious when we split it. The shop was neat and had a good variety. Prices were very reasonable. It’s the kind of place you want just around the corner!

I ordered from Door Dash because of the high review rating. The salad was a tiny side salad, nothing like they advertise on the app. They say it can be share up to 3 people as a side. The caeser dressing was basically a scoop of mayo. The parmesan cheese was the shaker kind you put on pizza not the shaved pamesan as advertised. Croutons seemed stale. My friend got the chicken salad sandwich. The baguette was not fresh and very dry. We ordered the butter cake but didn't receive it. Instead of reimbursing us they took it upon themselves to trade it for a muffin and only reimbursing us the difference. Still scratching my head on the high rating on Door Dash. It's all going in the trash. Must be under new management.

Great neighborhood lunch spot. Chicken ceasar wrap and Italian #5 are both great. Muffuletta was not special.

Have been a neighbour of Dupont Market for close to three decades. I’m a daily visitor. The best sandwiches, bagels and great coffee. AND Kelly’s soup to die for!! A hidden gem!

Great neighborhood sandwich shop! Always friendly and tasty food. Good selection of take away snacks and drinks for park picnics or movie night at home.

Delicious wraps and sandwiches with a great selection of chips and other kitchen needs. The turkey feta jalapeño on a spinach wrap is my go-to. Sometimes I add cucumbers if I'm feelin spicy, but you don't need to add anything, that spread is sooo good. Also don't sleep on that chicken salad. I was scared of the grapes in it, but it's a great addition.

Every time I'm in Dupont Circle I have to pass by this place for breakfast or lunch. Breakfast burrito with bacon is delicious and very filling. Also try the Hot Italian, it's one of the best sandwiches in the city. Staff is always friendly and remember me by name. My kids love the environment and employees they are very interactive and friendly!!Love love love this place!!!

I have been getting my lunch at Dupont Market for almost 30 years. The owner and the staff are all wonderful people and treat everyone professionally and warmly. I can only assume the spate of nasty reviews recently posted are probably instigated by one difficult person that absolutely do not reflect the truth about this jewel of a deli. The sandwiches are the best in the city, and the long-time employees are incredible.
