After reading all of the reviews here, I showed up expecting the worst. In fact, everyone was efficient and professional. It probably helps that my ticket adjudication went well. If you're arriving by Metro, look for the "9th and D" exit (I think).

They didn't even look at my printed screenshots that I had showing that I had previously submitted an online adjudication request that was not on their records. I got additional late fees after submitting an adjudication request and being told by email confirmation that further fines on my ticket would be suspended until I heard a determination. The staff were rude and gave me an attitude. I'm seriously hesitant to drive into DC any more because I'm worried that I'll get a ticket and never receive notice in the mail until months later when I have late fees. Then, even when I do submit a petition/request for adjudication and get an email receipt that a determination will be made, I'll get further late fees and a $100 ticket will turn into a $240 ticket with 6 months of back and forth calling to the city office.

I paid my ticket the day it was received in the mail, admitting guilt. The ticket arrived in my mailbox AFTER the due date. The fact that I paid it makes me responsible for the penalty. Doing what I know was the correct thing cost me $150 additional dollars. Nobody at the DC DMV will even consider my appeal. Horrible service

Yet another citizen having to turn to online reviews because they are being bullied by the city. DC does not notify you of decisions on tickets when you contest them. Instead they say they do. There is also no one to speak to over the phone. Where are our tax dollars going? DC’s government is racist, unhelpful and rude. This city is quickly and once again falling apart.

Truly wretched and evil people. Went to contest a ticket, but they refused to even look at my photograph evidence because I didn't "print it out in hard copy". Yet the evidence they presented against me was not printed out. Disgusting hypocrites

Just waited for over an hour, was called back for a hearing, only to be yelled at that I didn't have the right paperwork. This lady literally was like: how did you get back here without XX????" Like uhhh why don't you tell me?!?!? You work here right? Though "working" is a loose term since half the time folks were just chatting with each other, the half carrying on like incompetent city employees. Train your workers. Take accountability when you make mistakes. The fish rots from the head and it's clear (to anyone with a few brain cells) the leadership in this facility has set the bar all way in hell. Terribly unprofessional buffoons. It is clear no one in this facility values human life. No accountability for their mistake. Filing a complaint with every bureau that will take it. The DC parking laws are predatory and the workers here are perfect exemplars of idiocy.

Very fast I was in and out, if you have needed documents on your phone they will print out for you, just make sure before you go to judge you are well prepared with proof.

I wanted to challenge a parking ticket. The staff here was very friendly and helpful. I visited the office on a Friday morning around 9 am and there as no one there. The adjudication clerk was very strict down the books. Could have had some one that was more human and less cold. I know that they must do their jobs. However, who can honestly say that DC government is not out to get you. If you have a car they are coming for your wallet.

Thank you so much. It actually turned out I don't need a driver's license as the Italian one is valid with the translation which I already have due to the EU-US relations. I had to call them to confirm as the other 2 states were too sketchy it seems. So yes I like intelligent-humble people who know the laws. Sorry about it but it's who I am. I don't understand the stupidity and arrogance at the DMV in VA and MD. I prefer this one in DC.

I honestly did not believe it when I saw all of the positive reviews for a DMV office. However, it was a really great experience. All of the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, and the facility is nicely designed, clean and well lit. There was very little wait as the line was not that long due to there being several counters open for assistance. I needed to fill out some additional forms online, and they had computers available for customer use, so I was able to address everything during my visit. The employee that helped me even waited for me to go take care of my matter and come back to him without making me wait while he processed others in the que. Hopefully, I never have reason to be here again, but if I do at least I know I will not be dreading it.

I can’t believe that such a low level scamming is tolerated and accepted in a country that calls itself the greater nation in the world” and the “human rights in the world protector! In reality, in the nations capital a so called dmv sits here and robs everybody aggressively. This is bullying on a level never seen before. Africa does not do this. This is corruption American way!!!!
