We love this daycare. Started our little one here when she was 5 months old pre-pandemic. We began taking her there again this February at 18 months. She loves it and has bonded with the caregivers and the other children. We know she's safe and learning. She's also learning Spanish. We like the caring atmosphere that they have created among all the kids.
Returning to say that we also sent our 2nd daughter to Curious Mind and she absolutely loved it! This is an amazing daycare - I highly recommend. My older daughter was fully prepared for PK3 at a bilingual Spanish/English school.

It is easy to recommend Curious Minds. Our 1 year old daughter joined the center when she was 6 months. We visited numerous daycare centers in the neighborhood, and felt most comfortable with this one (especially the small size and high staff-to-child ratio). The staff are loving and kind and devoted to her and the other children. They send home adorable crafts that the kids make (mostly hand and foot print oriented given my little one's age!) and upload photos of them playing and at the park. The let you know when your kid is eating, sleeping, etc., through the app (which is comforting and makes it easy to pick up parenting after pick-up). The staff primarily speak Spanish though there is always someone who speaks English, and I'm excited for my daughter to grow with a second language.

The center generally follows DCPS for holidays and is closed during the week between Christmas and New Years, as outlined in the parent handbook.

They helped us navigate all the ups and downs of little kids - from walking and talking to potty training. And our kids are now fluent in Spanish!

I contacted the center to request information about their PK2 program and they did not have any openings. That was not surprising since DC is a high demand area for childcare from 0-3, but I found it surprising that I was not offered an opportunity to join a waitlist or provide information to be contacted when space is available. The center seems to have great reviews, but the person I spoke with did not see warm or receptive which are key things I look for when exploring a child care center. When I asked if she was the ED, she said "she was." Needless to say, I will not be exploring this center.

We've been attending Curious Mind for three years and currently have both our children (a 3 year old and an 11 month old) enrolled there. The facility is clean and secure and well maintained. My kids are happy and well cared for. The staff clearly love our children and take good care of them, which is a tremendous relief to this working mama. My three-year-old is fluent in Spanish despite us not speaking it at home. I can easily communicate with the director and staff via a daily app, through which I also get a ton of info about my kids' day every day, along with pics of them. Bilingual parents have a bit of a leg up in in-person communications, but as non-Spanish speakers, we've still be able to address any questions or concerns we have and the director has always been willing to work through any questions. We have happily recommended Curious Mind as an option for neighborhood friends and other parents for years and will continue to do so.

Our daughter has been going there since 10 weeks old! She just turned 3! She loves the staff and Ms. B and I will be sad the day she has to move on to pre-school. Highly recommend this as a caring, nurturing, and fun center for any child. It is also great that it is bilingual! She has picked up Spanish and hope we can continue the learnings!

My wife and I have been extremely happy with A Curious Mind daycare. The owner, "Ms. B" is calm and caring, and we feel that she and her staff truly care about the well-being of our daughter, and want to providing her and the other kids a safe and loving environment. They were very accommodating to our strategies to ease our daughter into daycare as an older 1 year-old, and we could see the effect in their daily reports showing that our daughter's crying quickly decreased, and she eventually was playing, singing, dancing, and eating. She is excited when we arrive, and she comes home in a fun and happy mood. We also appreciate that they are bi-lingual, speaking Spanish to our daughter (we are bi-lingual parents). The play area is open and full of light, and they separate the different age levels with short pieces of furniture, which allows the younger kids to see and hear the older ones. They go for outings every day, meaning the kids are not confined inside. We are very happy with A Curious Mind, and very highly recommend them.

BEST DAYCARE EVER!!!
When I met Miss Braudila, I came with a checklist with specifics such as warm, clean, safe environment and experienced teachers who are paid well and happy with their jobs. I also evaluated the caregiver-child ratios, and how many children there were in the classroom. EVERYTHING WAS PERFECT!! They pay attention to every minor detail, and are very accommodating to work with.
The caregiver-child ratio seems to be 1:2 so my daughter receives a lot of attention and they are very responsive to her needs. I LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT THE CURIOUS MIND!!
And the reality test: My one year old daughter was perfectly fine and smiling after one week with them!!!!! By the second week, she was dancing and eating well. By the third week, she would not even take a second look at me as I dropped her off -- I could then drive to my office with peace of mind that she was not missing me.
Before my daughter started with them, she was hitting me, hitting my husband, my dogs, and everything she could lay hands on. Once she started with Miss Braudila at the Curious Mind, within a week, she stopped doing it. IT WAS A MIRACLE!!!!!!

Like many soon-to-be moms, for many months I fretted about finding a daycare for our daughter. We were on several waiting lists, and had our favorite provider picked out. After reading one parent’s impromptu review of Curious Minds on the neighborhood list-serve, I gave them a visit. At the time, they were still very new and had openings to fill – I was delighted that I’d have a guaranteed spot for our daughter when so many other places had two-year wait lists. Skip ahead one year – our daughter has been going to Curious Minds since she was twelve weeks old. We got a call from our previous “favorite” daycare saying that a spot opened up for our daughter. I didn’t hesitate to turn them down; there was no way I was going to take her out of this place. She is now over two, and I’m dreading having to take her out when she is three. She absolutely flourishes there. I have no doubt that she is truly loved by Braudilia and all her staff. I’m certain that they are as dedicated to her happiness and development as her father and I am, and can’t think of anything else being more important for this time in her life. She is safe, happy and learning new things every day – seriously, she knows more Spanish than I can even recognize! We were so lucky to have stumbled upon Curious Minds – I honestly feel that there isn’t a better place for our daughter.
