Guitar collector...Also has old tools...I didn't buy anything, but when you buy precious metal you can completely forget about the store. Paid approx. 70% of the precious metal purchase price and 60% of the estimated price.40% margin/profit, yes that's how this store runs!

Purchased a banjo here and put it on layaway for a couple of months. The staff was very friendly, the prices quite reasonable and the service was very good. Definitely the best Pawn Shop in DC. Will come back again.

I love this place! Everyone is treated with respect, regardless of what you are looking to spend. The staff is friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. They get some super cool oddities in from time to time. You never know what you might find. Everytime i am in the area, this shop is always on my list of things to do.

Pretty expensive place. The selection was fine, though I could buy everything in the store at a much cheaper price on eBay.Only come here if you are looking for something that you cannot find online.*Edit from 2023.I have not entered this location since initially posting 9 years ago. I do not know how the current ownership operates the establishment. My initial review is based on an experience I had shopping here, including negotiating with the clerk in 2014. I stand by this review, but only insofar as it relates to my experience at that time.

This is not a normal pawn shop. The manager was friendly, helpful, and knowledgable. No pressure or nonsense from these guys. I bought a Craftsman router that was in excellent shape for a real bargain price. It was listed on Offerup. Thank you again for all that you did Nick!

My experience with Crown Pawnbrokers could not have been better! I am obsessed with guitar stuff and the staff at Crown had an amazing selection and happened to have two cool amps I’d been looking for in stock and Nick not only gave me a great deal, he held an item over for my convenience and even helped carry an old Peavey combo amp out to my car on the busy 14th street! Who says customer service is dead! Thanks guys!

I have been going to this shop for about 5 years now... Last time maybe a year or two ago... About 4 months ago, I have pawned 2 very expensive 18k gold items... I have picked them up today... I guess the management has changed (family owned), whoever has taken over is not nearly as trustworthy...I am never coming back. I think they have shaved a little from my 18K gold bracelet... so sad... No records keeping, the person who was giving me the items was a young white guy, rather short... very sketchy... When I asked to weigh my item I suspected of being compromised, he never even showed me what the scales said... Be careful....
