The maintenance has been great! I had a problem with my refrigerator; it was making a terrible noise at times. The problem was solved; the fan cover was loose, and there was ice in it. Work was done in a very few minutes. Things are quiet now.

I recently moved out of Connecticut House (after living there for 1 year), and was very pleased with my stay. The apartments are huge & the walls/ceilings/floors are concrete, so noise is not an issue. Bugs/pests are also not an issue, as the supervisor, Juan Prado, is on top of EVERYTHING.The staff are fantastic, & each staff member makes me smile as they are great people, in addition to being great employees.I would highly recommend Connecticut House to anyone looking for affordable, spacious, NICE housing in DC. You will be well taken care of :)

I lived here at Connecticut House for a year and highly enjoyed it. Never had any noise or maintenance issues. The apartments have beautiful windows and are repainted and cleaned prior to move in with great care and attention to detail. All staff here are so friendly and welcoming, and I've always felt very safe. Tangela McElroy was wonderful to work with, always responded in a timely manner and helped my application and leasing process go smoothly. The building manager, Juan Prado, really cares about each of the residents, and always goes out of his way to make sure everyone feels comfortable and happy. Juan takes great care of requests and any questions residents may have. All of the front desk staff are kind and friendly, they are responsive to phone calls and have always made me feel safe. My whole experience living here was so great and I will miss living here!

I am so happy with my apartment at Connecticut House. It's so quiet, I never have issues working from home. The management was super helpful through my whole move in process. And this location is perfect for me, I love getting out and walking around the area.

I don't like writing these kinds of reviews, but we've had really awful experiences with Connecticut house and it has been kind of a nightmare. Regular water leaks through walls and water shutoffs for maintenance (almost always no notice). During the COVID outbreak they have insisted on practices that needlessly put residents and staff at risk of exposure -- even when safer alternatives were suggested. Then there's rent payment problems. Why would an apartment make it HARD to pay your rent? They failed to process my rent payment due to technical problems with their payment system and then immediately threatened to sue me for late rent, with no other attempt to contact us. Edit: This was their "new and improved system" they mention in their reply below. They didn't even apologize when they realized the problem was ENTIRELY with their system (a technical glitch). There was a history of problems collecting rent before that. First they insisted you could pay ONLY by mail (to a P.O. box), then they changed where to mail to, repeatedly with no notice on the day rent is due. I am convinced they were trying to make it hard to pay rent so they can collect late fees. Then they told us -- after we had to speak to accounting to resolve a problem with their incorrect billing -- that there was an online rent payment system that they neglected to mention entirely for months. Then a few months later they changed to yet another billing system (the "improved" system that failed to process our rent payment). Also there is nothing lovable about the puke-yellow interior paint of the halls and ratty carpeting. Nor do we love the fact that it gets ridiculously hot in the spring and fall when they insist on running the heat in the entire building during 80+ degree weather.Maintenance on the units is not amazing either. When they do provide prior notice before doing disruptive maintenance, the actual maintenance almost never takes place at the time stated (sometimes they come by days later). The only good things are that the location is cheap, there's no bugs, and it USED to be cheap (I see now that they've used a loophole in rent control to jack up the rents after we recently moved out). It's up to you if that is worth the problems or not.

I lived here for 3 years and the whole experience was very positive. The building manager, Juan, and his entire staff had made me feel comfortable to call this place home. During the pandemic, the building takes Covid precautions very seriously and adheres to all local guidelines. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a rental in DC.

I moved away to be closer to family due to the pandemic, however this was the only apartment building in DC I felt comfortable enough to call home. I lived here for 3 years, beginning when a friend who lived in the building recommended it to me. I met the property manager, Juan, who is extremely jovial and was able to show me the apartment and have my application processed quickly. Once I moved in, he always worked to make residents feel safe and comfortable in this building. During the day, he and the front desk staff were always a pleasure to see coming and going. I never had to worry about mail and packages due to their outstanding professionalism. The cleaning crew were always on schedule to keep everything in the building clean (and safe, which became key during the pandemic). The building maintenance crew were men of few words, however they were punctual, efficient, extremely polite about entering your residence, and were always following COVID safety guidelines. Plus, if a light bulb in any of the apartment's fixtures went out, they replace those for free with energy efficient light bulbs! This complex is run by a larger company, however you wouldn't really know it due to the staff's personal touch that makes it feel more like a community. If I return to DC, I just hope they'll have leases available! Thanks Juan & Co.!

When I was looking for apartments in D.C., I indicated my interest in a series of properties via an apartment finder site. Ms. Laureese Jackson took the initiative to reach out to me to gauge the level of my interest. I explained what I needed in terms of neighborhood and amenities, and she took the time to honestly explain what Connecticut House could provide and what they couldn't. Needless to say, the cleanliness of the building, the courteous and attentive building staff captained by the gracious and good-natured building manager Juan, left me with no regrets. Laureese went above and beyond to make sure the management met my price point and secured the floor plan I preferred, even though it was not available at the time. Laureese is class personified, so anyone interested in renting any DARO properties; it would behoove you to reach out to her.

I lived in the Connecticut House for 2 years and really enjoyed my stay there. The building was kept sparkling clean all the time and the amenities were great. The building management made me feel at home, very friendly and helpful people. Maintenance is quick and efficient, although there were never any significant issues with my apartment. I would absolutely recommend any of my friends to consider this apartment building.
