This is a review of my experience of getting an estimate as I didn't end up having them complete the project.I wanted to get two canvas paintings stretched onto bars (I had taken the paintings off their bars to have it rolled and shipped) and they are both 31.5"x31.5". When I called, I was told I'd have to bring the pieces in so they could figure out what to do and how much it would cost. It was an easy walk from me and the business is housed in a converted home on 12 St NE--cute!I come in at 5:40pm on a Monday and the woman who opens the door doesn't seem happy to see us, but it's fine, it's a Monday evening. She doesn't greet us nor does she show any sign of acknowledging us, so it's super awkward both chatting with my friend I brought with me or being silent. After measuring the pieces, she sits down and spends over 10 minutes doing calculations and proceeds to tell me a few prices. Every time I was told a price, I asked if the price was for both pieces to confirm. When she copies the work order for me, I ask her to write down the price to make sure we're on the same page, and it's $440 or something--not the $234 she said initially nor the $288 she quoted moments later. I had been quoted by two different local shops that this job would be about $320 for both. After seeing the large price difference, I decided to complete this work elsewhere. This process took just over 20 minutes.I wanted to like this place. Unfortunately, my experience was really awkward and I don't plan on returning.

Great people reasonably priced. They are fixing a frame, I think they were happy I wasn't in a rush. Better a great job than a rushed job.

Classic Art of Brookland "goes the extra mile to make you smile." It was clear from the moment we arrived that helping people is their passion. The custom sign on the wall "quality is never an accident" really exemplified what Classic Art is all about. We arrived with 7 art pieces including a custom designed one that was very special to us and an older sports memorabilia piece left to me by my late grandfather. The team at Classic Art took extra special care with each piece. We felt welcomed and treated like family. With each piece, they provided recommendations for framing, matting, and glass casing. We did not feel pressured into being upsold and truly felt that Classic Art had our best interests in mind. They provided expert advice on what color and style of frame would work well with each piece and patiently listened to each of our thoughts and questions and offered great feedback. They completed the job quickly and when we arrived to pick up the pieces, they unveiled each piece, which looked better than we could have imagined! As an added bonus, they added a double mat free of charge to the custom designed piece because they felt it would really make the piece stand out (and it did)! We walked away with more than just great frames, we walked away with solid recommendations, great company, and a business that we will refer to anyone with framing needs! Thank you Classic Art of Brookland!
