Despite being a little pricey, I found some GORGEOUS, high-quality jewelry hidden within the upper and lower jewelry sections!

Small selection, but the best antique/consignment jewelry in D.C. I found my engagement ring here. INSANELY great deals, especially on diamond rings and higher-value pieces. The manager is so helpful and friendly!

First, the money spent in this store goes to a good cause. It's not a cheap store but if you wait, and the item is not sold, may be the price is reduced.

After having a wonderful afternoon all over DC we went to Christ Child to hunt around. They suggested we wear masks which we were not interested in wearing. So the manager some beady-eyed little guy decided he was going to insult us and call us names to force us to leave. He called us “white“ (he was white LOL), “privileged” to only gloat about his own wealthy retired status and continued insult slinging, made 2 faux calls to the “police” that never came and wouldn’t let us buy anything in a thrift store. He belittled conservatives and Christianity in the Christian nonprofit company he is representing. A total sh!tshow and by far the worst trip of many bad ones to #ChristChild #AntiFa harboring rude nasty arrogant intolerant intimidation experience. They don’t deserve an honest penny from your pocket!!!

I find that the volunteer staff are also temperamental and rude lately. I had called ahead some months ago about dropping some things off, which the person with whom I spoke said I could do and never mentioned having to make an appointment. They were small items as I was clearing out a china closet and certainly nothing damaged. When I went in, a very rude young man asked what I was doing there with a box. I replied I had been told (per usual, btw) that I could drop off the items. He became very irritated and said " Certainly NOT!" You must make an appointment which will take months! The normal Mgr was not in at his desk, but then bumped into an old friend of 50 years who was volunteering. She said - " Yes, it's changed and now you must make an appointment far in advance." But I have heard how rude the 'volunteers' are for a while now.As a long time Washingtonian, ladies volunteering used to be just that. With the exception of my old friend, it seems no any longer. Too bad, it's a fun shop and I have found some fun items there and sold some things too, for a worthy cause! But snippy silly kids do nothing to make it a happy experience.

The customer service here is very bizarre. Either the staff couldn't be nicer or more helpful or extremely rude. Perhaps invest in some professional customer service training or not let teenagers / college students with zero sales experience talk to customers? I asked to see something in one of their locked cases. A nice woman opened the case for me and then went to help someone else. I then hear a panicked voice behind me -- "is someone helping him? Someone needs to watch him." I joked that I didn't break into the case but someone had just opened it for me. They then sent some teenager to literally watch me as I looked at a few items in the case. He then became affronted that I didn't make a purchase after he couldn't answer any of my questions about the items and stormed off. Strange shop!

Wow. Great place for vintage jewelry and everything else one needs for a home or office. Not only is everything repurposed but all proceeds go to children in the area that need help meeting their emotional needs. Found four rare Portmeirion pottery pieces as well as two pieces of vintage high-end jewelry. These were very fairly priced with the market. Excellent collection of dishes, silver, and crystal. Go there instead of doing a wedding registry! So much more green! Rock on Opportunity Shop - you made my heart happy today seeing things re-purposed! The place was packed!
