“The car kind of smelled like marijuana or something funky. The smell was not initially obvious, but it became more noticeable with the a/c recycling. On a positive note: the staff seemed genuinely interested in providing good customer service. When I picked the car I realized I was missing my USB cable; the attendant loaned me one with no hassle at all. When I returned the car a different attendant was apologetic for the car smell and for the USB connection not working (that turned out to be a problem with my phone, not the cable the first attendant loaned me). I told him it was possibly my phone, but he seemed disappointed for me either way.”

99 H St NE, Washington“I went to this location to exchange a car that had a defective front left tire and looked like it was about to rupture (see photo). The low pressure light kept going off so I called budget about the issue. They said I can simply go in and exchange the car and confirmed that there were cars available at this location. However, once I got there, I was immediately told that there were no cars available and basically told to go to another location.
I was furious about this treatment and argued with the manager who didn’t even try to understand my frustration. I was driving with my wife and 10 month old and I didn’t feel safe driving this car with a defective tire. I felt that my concerns were not heard so I ended cursing her out and calling her a liar for not having any cars available.
Security was eventually called on me because I insisted she provide her name and/or card so I can submit a complaint. Security came so I told him my story and why I was furious. He seemed to understand and spoke with the manager to see if there’s any kind of resolution.
He mediated the conversation with me and the manager and I ended up apologizing to her for my behavior/insults.
Even though this experience was terrible and frustrating at first, I really appreciated the security guard trying to help out and bring calm to a stressful situation. The manager was able to honor the exchange in the end but I still feel bad for how I reacted. Hopefully this 5 star review makes up for it.”
“Contrary to the general review, my wife and I had no problems picking it up. We booked the car 3 months before collection through a third-party provider (Check24) and received the car according to the booking. We were also asked for a corresponding toll pass (E-ZPass) and received this for an additional charge. All fees that we paid on site (second driver, one-way surcharge (D.C. - Miami, Florida)) were as high as clarified in advance. In addition, as with almost all rental providers, there is a deposit.
However, we were given two tickets for the exit and it wasn't really explained to us how to use them. A hotel employee kindly told us this after we had only used one ticket and showed us the cost was $56. Otherwise everything is fine.”
“Everything went as expected and without a hitch. The travel agency had booked the car from Italy for us. On the day of collection it was delivered to us clean and well maintained. As far as I'm concerned it was an excellent experience even though I was worried given the not so great reviews.”
“First, it was very easy for the auto body shop to get a shuttle to take me to Enterprise; then process of renting was as efficient as possible at a busy time, quite smooth in fact. When my body repair was done, I just left the rental car at the body shop and someone turned it in or Enterprise picked it up. In other words I had very little to do, the businesses clearly have a good relationship, and I was very happy with the Enterprise service and the vehicle. I will definitely use them again without hesitation.”
