Rude people

As a member of the Church of Christ, my local church feels like home—my kind of people, my inheritance in Christ.
Everyone is friendly, and I’m part of that warm, welcoming atmosphere that embraces anyone who walks through the doors, inviting them into the life of the church. Does that sound like I'm bragging about myself?
It’s a wonderful place where you’ll hear the Truth spoken and beautifully taught, and you’ll love the singing. We don’t have a “Christian Eddie Vedder” performing solo guitar or vocal sets in front of everyone—nope! Here, the praise is acapella and accompanied by piano, and it’s lovely. Interestingly enough, one of our associate pastors, Christian Lawrence, reminds me of a member of the Hanson band. He’s a dear friend, though he doesn’t have anymore that golden mane of hair to toss aside when he’s about to pray or read the Scriptures—kind of like Moses' mantle. Despite that, everything about the church we call CHBC is great—perhaps even better than the golden hair of Michael Lawrence, whom I’ve nicknamed ‘Brother Paul Pitt’ because he’s a mix of them both!
You should come and experience it for yourself.
PS. I hope you appreciate the humor.
PS2. Michael Lawrence is single, that I know, and a godly young man.

Faithful Bible-believing, Gospel-preaching church. Tremendous congregational singing, and outstanding teaching and discipleship. Mark Dever is the pastor.

Visited Capitol Hill Baptist Church with some of my church fam from Grace Church Miami and we loved spending our Sunday on vacation with another biblical community and like-minded Church. Thankful for faithful churches in other cities and pastors like Mark Dever.
Sermon was on Romans 4:1-10 and Pastor Mark does something that I don’t often see; he directs and makes certain points specifically for the children sitting at service. Something special to see. This Sunday we got the “full menu” as we witnessed two new elders being placed and two baptisms. Overall great service.
Sermon reminded me of this Spurgeon quote which I will leave with and it says “I have a great need for Christ: I have a great Christ for my need.”

The homeless man is back again tonight. Because of this other homeless people come to the neighborhood now. The church has done nothing to prevent him from staying down there…put up some cameras or spikes….something! People came out of the church saw him and then kept walking. Please we (the neighborhood/neighbors) are begging you to do something about this problem! It is unfortunate that we have to leave google reviews to be heard.

While visiting DC, we had an exceptional worship experience at CHBC. One of the standout features is being able to hear the congregation singing as opposed to the more common practice of other churches nowadays where you can only hear the people leading worship. At this church, the voices of the congregation fill the sanctuary--so beautiful! Equally impressive is the solid Biblical preaching delivered from the pulpit by the pastor Mark Dever. Following the service, congregants are encouraged to linger and engage in conversations with one another. During our visit, I was particularly touched by the attentiveness of Andy Jones, one of the associate pastors who took the time to speak with my husband, showing a genuine interest in connecting with newcomers. Additionally, a simple yet meaningful gesture from one of the members, who noticed us sharing a bulletin and promptly fetched another one for us, exemplified the culture of care within the congregation. We will make it a point to visit this church whenever we're in the area.

Calvinist church. They teach the false doctrine of T.U.L.I.P. They believe God picks and chooses certain people to save and ignores all others. They also believe that Jesus did not die for all.
