Brothers Sew & Vac at 3317 Connecticut Ave., NW, between Macomb and Ordway Sts., is where I have been taking my 2000-2001 Miele vacuum cleaner for repair for almost 5-7 years. They’re great. The nicest guy works there, Assane (pronounced like Hassan without the H), and he does much of the repair work himself. I was last in there in 2019, and I remembered how great he was the last time. It’s not cheap getting my Miele vacuum repaired, but they do a great job and know their business. Check them out.

We had a great experience - Brothers repaired our Hoover using parts they were tossing out! Their workbench is staffed with a professional who knows how to shape materials to craft bits and pieces that fit when exact replacement parts from the manufacturer are not available.

Their workbench is staffed with a professional who knows how to shape materials to craft bits and pieces that fit when exact replacement parts from the manufacturer are not available. I forget the gentleman's name - it sounded like his name begins with an 'A' - but his intelligent and sensible ways restored the ability to steer our upright in fifteen minutes at no charge.

I was having strange issues with my Singer Tradition sewing machine (a grinding sound, handwheel not turning, and loose bottom stitches). I took my machine in and had it serviced same-day. All the issues were solved! I was even given a quick how-to on using my machine with each component explained to me. I highly recommend going here.

I have nothing new to add beyond what other reviews have stated: the people who work here are friendly, knowledgable, and take the time to explain/educate. I plan to bring my sewing machine for service here (and only here) whenever it should require it in the future. As it is, it now runs better than it did when I bought it.

Paul was amazing. Great service. Put in a new motor for my old horse vacuum. He is so pleasant to work with.

I had a wonderful experience with the sewing machine repair services here. I got a same - day cleaning and servicing of my Singer machine (which was gifted by my late grandmother). The kind man who helped me ( I wish I had gotten his name!) even gave me a few tips and oiled my walking foot for me when I explained it was squeaking. Quality service, and very kind. I will return here every time I need a sewing machine tune up.

Top notch work and great customer service. I have an 11 year old Dyson that still runs great, but needs to be tuned up or unclogged from time to time. Brothers does a fantastic job with a quick turnaround. Don't go anywhere else.

I paid $300 bucks for a motor replacement for my vintage canister style vacuum cleaner. Got it back and the motor was extremely, unbearably loud. Took it back in to fix the sound, got it back a few days later with no difference in sound. As I was handed my vac, it was handed to me outback. I was unable to check out the results in store. The very first gentlemen I worked with was nice (South American name if I can remember correctly). But, the other was a little stand offish. Needless to say, my money wasted. The just sits in my closet. Too loud to use. I'll beg someone else to spend my money.

I hadn't had service for my 30+ yo Singer sewing machine in some time but it suddenly needed some repair help. Assane was a real pro who diagnosed my machine upon arrival taking it apart to see if he first could repair it, and then confidently confirmed it could be done. When I told him I had an inherited Bernina that I didn't know how to use, he offered to show me upon my return to pick up the Singer...and he did! What wonderful service! Thanks Assane and Brother's Sew & Vac.

Great place. They fixed my 1980s Viking sewing machine overnight and gave me tips on how not to break it again. :) Great customer service. Highly recommend!

We've been using Brothers for several decades both to purchase and to service vacuums. They are knowledgeable about different brands and give solid advice. Always professional, and prompt. I know of no better place to service or repair vacuums.

I found Brothers Sew and Vac to be very kind and competent. I had three vacuums serviced, two were not worth fixing. The price was reasonable for the one vacuum we did fix. I was especially happy that they could dispose of the other two vacuums for us so I did not have to haul them back home and find a way to dispose myself. The turnaround time was also satisfactory.

These guys are wonderful helpful honest and reliable. They've kept more than one vacuum cleaner alive past its time and tell the truth when it's time to say goodbye.
