Anne Marie and her team were just wonderful. It was my first time at the store while visiting a friend in DC and I was welcomed as I have known them already for many years. My dress had to be altered and shipped to my home in NJ. Throughout the process, the team kept the communication open and sent updates along the way. Can't wait to visit again. Must go to boutique in DC.

Fabulous experiences at Bitter Grace! So much more than just a store (but it is a beautiful store). I've attended thoughtful Style Workshops and recently got a Color Analysis which was comprehensive, more surprising than you might think, and fun! Highly encourage people to stop by and check them out!

GREAT experience! Lydia was wonderful and so thoughtful with how she approached our color analysis. So happy that my sister and I did our assessment together. It’s a fun memory that we’ll have now and we walked away ready to shop for our best colors :)

I had the most amazing time getting my color analysis done at Bitter Grace! Lydia and Anne Marie took their time to make sure that they found the best colors for me without ever making me feel like they were trying to fit me into a box. We had so much fun trying all the colors and figuring out why some worked and some didn't. They also made sure that I was comfortable the whole time - offering water and wine. I would HIGHLY suggest booking a color analysis appointment at Bitter Grace if you are remotely interested in color analysis! It helped guide me in choosing colors for my makeup trial for my wedding, hair tones for my next hair appointment, and new work clothes to put my best self forward. And beyond being incredibly helpful, it was also such a fun experience! Could not recommend more!

It was pleasure meeting you Anne and the team. It was a great styling experience! When I saw one of the dresses I said that would never look good on me but I was wrong. I learned '' Never say Never!" I also learned one clothing item can be worn many different ways. Again Thank you for a great learning experience.

Simply put, my personal styling experience with Anne Marie changed the trajectory of my life. I can’t overstate how transformative and profound my experience at Bitter Grace was. Anne Marie has a true gift – she was able to tap into who I am and more importantly, who I want to be, after one conversation over Zoom. She then pulled the most beautiful pieces of clothing for me to try on at my personal styling appointment in her store. My time with Anne Marie felt like catching up with an old friend – she made me feel so comfortable throughout the whole process. She set out a beautiful spread of fruit, cheese, wine and even played my favorite music (country) throughout my appointment.
What I especially loved about my appointment with Anne Marie is there was absolutely no pressure whatsoever – if I came out of the dressing room and didn’t love the way I felt in a particular piece of clothing, she didn’t try to convince me otherwise or try to change my mind. We simply moved on to the next outfit. I felt completely heard and understood the entire time.
I have made a friend for life in Anne Marie. Anne Marie, thank you for what you do – you gave me such a gift this year and I will always be so thankful.

The clothing is beautiful, the store is well-curated, and I loved that I wasn't overwhelmed by inventory. It is also very expensive. I tried on an outfit that would have cost $1000 (a silk top and silk skirt) in-store, shopping with my baby. When I told the staff member who was helping me shop that I'd sleep on it and come back the next day, he said (in jest, but still...) "just come back with your husband's charge card." I replied "that's not how it works in my family," and left. I sent this feedback to the store owner, and she was apologetic, and offered me a personal shopping session or afternoon tea. But I realize that the offending staff person might have been her husband, who I understand is sometimes involved in the store?! Sadly, that doesn't fix feeling stereotyped, as if I didn't look, sound, or act like I could afford to make my own financial decisions, nor does it address the underlying misogyny of his comment.

I have been here a few times and every time the owners make it special. I attended their afternoon tea experience and the food and service was great. My friends and I loved it! The space is beautiful as well. You won't regret coming here!

I’ve been a customer at Bitter Grace since the end of 2020. I can’t rave about this store front enough. It’s modern, chic and welcoming. The decor and fit-out is AMAZING. What makes it more home is that the staff are attentive. So when you’re viewing their pieces they can explain the relationships built, intention and brand you maybe investing in. I’ve enjoyed the sustainable clothing I’ve bought for myself and gifted to others. I absolutely love their candles. I loved the soaps and the previous facial scrub they stocked. Hopefully they are restocked soon or find another partner. In addition, I’ve recently attended a high tea event with friends that was beautiful from the food, tea, wine and champagne selections. Lastly, this morning the owners allowed me to utilize the space for a photoshoot. I’m very thankful for that. It gave the feel and energy I was seeking to bring out. You won’t lose with Bitter Grace. I’m excited for the future of this space because it will continue to thrive and be successful. You’ll see I’ve attached photos of items a one of a kind jacket I bought for myself. A gift purchased for a friend, the high tea, space growth and photos I enjoyed taking because it’s an amazing space. I’ll add photos from my shoot later to inspire others to utilize Bitter Grace to its full potential like I have.

Anne Marie not only advises on color combinations and styles that will go with you, she is about a full body/ mind - inside -out beautiful experience. The store is filled with beautiful, comfortable and classic style sustainable fashion, surrounded by natural scented candles, beautiful gemstones, and natural skincare products. I have been there many times and I will be back!
