Eh. I've taken classes at several barre studios (and teach barre at other studios) and barre3 wasn't the worst, but wasn't the best. The class is hard--HOWEVER, it's a lot of big movements and is more yoga inspired than authentic barre. The cardio sections were challenging, but the actual thigh and seat work was too easy and slow (inexplicably, it's the exact same exercise for seat work every time). I found Pure Barre to be more precise and to have a more accurate/authentic Lottie Berk barre-style technique, as well as have more challenging ab work. The teachers were okay, but didn't strike me as incredibly knowledgeable or super friendly. The hands on corrections could be better (ie. more meaningful). It was fine, but once my first month ended, I switched to another studio because it was a better deal and a better work out.

I've been here several times now and have tried different teachers. They are all really positive and non- shaming, which is great. They are also quite challenging, some more than other. The studio is nice. They keep it clean and functions seamlessly. There's an area where you can lounge and even a small children's area. On weekdays, you practice with noise cancelling headphones so they the business upstairs doesn't complain about the loud music. I don't mind the headphones. You don't need to wear socks in this studio and the equipment is all there for you. I finally found my favorite teacher and will likely be a regular now.

Can't say enough good things about this studio. It's a workout I actually really enjoy. Instructors are supportive and helpful, particularly around injuries or recovery from surgery an encourage you to do what works for you.

An energetic mix of aerobic, barre, and yoga. It's a different routine every time.

Favorite Barre studio because I always get a good workout followed by a yoga-style savasana at the end!

This is one of my favorite barre studios in DC. I love the slightly homey relaxed vibe of the studio with its exposed beams and brick and somewhat subdued lighting and comfy couches in the locker area. The bathrooms/showers are clean and stocked with free things like shampoo, deodorant, and tampons. Some studios make you bring your own sweat towel, but they provide wash cloths here which I really appreciate. The class itself is high energy and fun and I always feel refreshed afterwards. My favorite instructor is Kathryn "KQ" but they are all good. The instructors rarely call you out by name here, they just come around and do hands-on adjustments. One time I took a class and I noticed Jill Biden across the room, you never know who you might be working out with in Georgetown!
