A good facility where I am comfortable working out. Not too crowded and can always do a lift with equipment available and am always greeted with a friendly gym environment.

The personal training team at Balance is by far the best in DC! They have helped me understand my body and the movements that are best for my goals! They have also helped me to understand all of the different machines and free weights so I can build my own workouts. I can't say it enough! Best gym in DC!

Great gym with really nice people at the desk. It's nice that the classes are all included because i can do classes with weights and also stuff like yoga all in one place. And when i want to work out with privacy theres lots of rooms that are pretty private. They have a pool and hot tub, i dont use them a lot but if you like a pool they have it

This is a really great gym, one of the most extensive I've used. Two big yoga studios (with classes included in the membership), crossfit, a HUGE free weight floor with plenty of squat racks and space for olympic lifting, decent weight and cardio machines, pelotons, and heated pool. Hot tub, steam room, and saunas as well, but the weightroom is my favorite. They have all the equipment that serious lifters need, and you don't even need to bring your own bands or belts, they have plenty that you can borrow. Also the bathrooms are spotless, which I genuinely appreciate. Shout out to the housekeeping staff fr!

Been a member since 2018. I really enjoy this space as it has a great layout, nice equipment, nice staff, good hours. The gym added better WiFi and that is much appreciated. The classes are great too, especially the functional fitness team. Would highly recommend.

This gym is ok!--depending on what you need it for. Pros: Saunas in locker room Pool--small, but never too busy! Towel service Two Self propelled treadmills Has a CrossFit space (but requires separate membership $200) Lifting platforms and bumper plates Lots of cardio equipment Large locker rooms with showers Price ($80-100) Cons: Parking is tough. Crime is bad (friend had car broken into--windows smashed in, other friend had bike stolen--lock cut and everything) Equipment is in bad shape (bikes are broken, bumper plates have center falling out, platforms are dangerously worn) Overly crowded with people in weightlifting area Crowded with equipment (squat racks are too close to the wall, and each other, making it nearly impossible to load the barbell. Random equipment and junk is stacked obstructing where your feet need to safely be. Squat rack is dangerously close to the platform, the end of the barbell end up being inches from the platform) Staff can be rude near closing time

The reception staff is extremely friendly and professional.complete and well-stocked gym with numerous platforms offering a variety of exercises.on the other hand, dumbbell users (especially on the cross fit floor) do not respect the calm and concentration of other users of the gym.For example, they shout and throw (or deliberately drop) the dumbbells on the ground, which generates an extremely loud, unpleasant and recurring noise for the peace and quiet of this room. It's a shame, and in the future I will go to another place. However, the staff is very efficient

Do NOT leave your credit card number with these people. Worst administration ever, now I understand why this is the least expensive CrossFit service in DC. I tried to freeze my membership for 1 month (first time I try in 4 years I have been in the gym). Sent an email to the address they have, no response. Wrote about 10 emails to other 3 email accounts they have, called by phone, went in person to the front desk, and no confirmation about my freeze. They only said “if you write an email, they will handle it”. After 3 weeks, they charged my card!!. I was so frustrated, reached help from a coach (coaches are very nice and have nothing to do with this terrible administration), and someone finally answered and returned my money. It doesn’t end here. I asked to delete all my credit card information and cancel my membership. Guess what, after 1 month, they tried to charge my card again. Thank God I had changed my card after the experience. But what a waste of time and energy.

The gym is awesome. It is located inside the Fairmont Hotel. Foggy Bottom Metro is a few blocks away. The circulator bus also stops nearby. There are lots of machines (treadmills, weights, stepping, things I don't know what they are called) to keep in shape. There are also lots of items (balls, free weights, etc) with a space to exercise. The pool has two lanes. It is a well kept secret in DC. I don't see many people in the pool. There is a sauna (dry & wet) and jacuzzi. You don't have to bring most toiletries or a towel. They are provided. The showers are great. You can stand under it or use the attached nozzle. All showers and the pool are ADA compliant. The locker room has containers for deodorant and hair spray (someone needs to fix them. They don't spray anything). There is a "salad spinner" for bathing suits. Most of the water can be squeezed out so you don't have to carry all that moisture home with you. (Sadly) there are scales if you want to weigh yourself. I always bring a water bottle with me. There is a water machine near the front desk. The staff members are low key and nice. There is a shower by the pool. It makes rinsing off convenient.

Best hotel gym I've ever been to. Usually at a hotel the gym will be a small room with very few pieces of equipment. This is a three level gym with a lot of equipment, a separate free weights section, and even a CrossFit section. It has a lap pool and a jacuzzi. The women's locker room has makeup and blow dry stations and even a swim suit water extractor.

I trained with Liz here using the proven results plan and it was the best personal training experience I’ve ever had. She’s such an amazing trainer— she constantly checked in with me, pushed me just the right amount so I’d feel challenged but not defeated, and was super kind, punctual, and responsive! Because of my prior gym experiences, I used to think going to the gym was only worth it if I left the building on the brink of life and death ? but training with Liz, I learned that it’s totally possible to sweat out but still feel energized & be eager to go on with the rest of the day :) Other staff members like Michael and Paul have been super helpful and responsive too. Due to my own personal circumstances there have been some complications with my account but they helped me through it very efficiently. As for the facilities, it’s very well-maintained: super clean, nice shower facilities, spacious locker rooms, and never too crowded.

Miss D and Sanaz were excellent in making me feel welcome at the gym. It is a small gym compared to a suburban one. However, it is really utilized the space well and everything is intentionally placed so you can work out without bumping into a neighbor. I was most interested in the pool and liked the Splish Splash mural because it really brighten the area.

Posting pictures of the objectively visible filth because the front desk told me they can’t do anything about it if they aren’t told. Well, here it is. I would also like to add that many of the yoga mats are split and there is a clear ventilation issue, which is evidenced by the bubbling paint/wall paper.
