Exceptional Service from Jennifer - Feedback on Return Policy
I wanted to take a moment to share my recent experience at Anthropologie, particularly highlighting the outstanding service I received from Jennifer, located in Georgetown.
After a disappointing experience at the Bethesda and Fairfax locations, where staff refused to assist me with returning a lilac taper candle set of 2 without a receipt, I was feeling quite frustrated. Despite explaining that I had purchased the item from the Georgetown location just a week prior and requesting that they call for my receipt number, I was met with resistance and no resolution.
However, when I returned to the Georgetown store, Jennifer went above and beyond to help me. She not only located my receipt but also confirmed that the other locations had the capability to retrieve receipt numbers from their store. While she mentioned it would take some extra time, it was reassuring to know that a solution was possible.
Jennifer's exceptional customer service made a significant difference in my experience. She was friendly, patient, and truly exemplified what excellent customer care should be. I genuinely appreciate her efforts and will remember the positive interactions I had with her - I think it would add value to Anthropologie if all staff was trained by Jennifer.
In addition to recognizing Jennifer's exemplary service, I would like to suggest that Anthropologie consider updating its return policy. A 30 day return window for customers without receipts would be more accommodating, especially when it's clear that the product has not been used. Additionally, implementing a system for customers to select receipt emails or texts upon purchase, particularly for transactions involving gift cards, would be a helpful improvement. This would prevent situations like mine, where my gift card was discarded after use.

A family member bought an e-gift card. They charged the amount but somehow decided the gift card was on hold. And now they are asking for all sorts of "confirmation information" for us to be able to use a card we already paid for. Terrible service and lack of respect for the consumer. Don't bother buying gift cards at Anthropologie

Came here so close to closing on a holiday weekend Friday. They helped me with my complicated return and were so nice through the process. I felt bad to come in so close to closing and they could not have been kinder. What the staff didn’t know is I have been having a super rough summer just in general. Their kindness really made my day and made my life easier in general. I appreciate them! I’ll def be back to shop in person.

I’m not from the city but I frequently shop at anthro where I’m from. The employees are were great from the fitting room, ladies on the floor, down to the cashiers. I was dressed “not very anthro” that day and they didn’t treat me any different either which is a super plus!! Thank you for making a tourist feel welcome at all points throughout my visit this weekend!!

I tried on wedding dresses with Joh Ná and she was fantastic. She really made my experience fun - she was super down to earth, funny, and extremely knowledgeable about everything. Highly recommend her if you’re looking for dresses!!

Horrible experience here - unhelpful staff and poorly trained. My mom went in to EXCHANGE a purse and the cashier lady issued a RETURN to my card. I live abroad and had given this purse as gift to my mom while I was in DC. They were unable to give my mom a solution, a gift card or her purse back. So, my mom left without her birthday gift. Staff was unwilling to help. Never buying from anthro again.

Arrived to the store right at closing time on a Sunday (not one minute later) and the employees were incredibly rude and would not help me with my return. I was super kind and thought maybe they'd say "Sure we can help you quickly," or even, "We are so sorry. We really cannot do your return or we would have to let other customers in as well Please forgive us." I will never understand rude people, let alone in the customer service industry.

Any words I can share on my bridal experience at this Anthropologie location would not be enough to convey the magical moment I lived during my first-ever bridal appointment with Allison and Marelle.Let me start by saying that the prospect of dress shopping without some of the most important people in my life present made me nervous and sad, until I had my bridal appointment with the BHLDN team on M street.From the very first moment I walked into my appointment in November 2023, they made me feel welcome, special, and one of a kind. They helped guide me toward dress styles I had not even thought about and solidified my decision about the overall shape and style I wanted.I ultimately ended up going with a different dress at another store and I have regretted that decision since. Please don't hesitate to go here for your dress.Thank you for making this experience an unforgettable one :)

Fantastic wedding dress appointment experience! Angie was so nice and helpful and made myself, my mom and friend feel so comfortable. This is a wonderful Anthropologie store and great place to try on different wedding dresses. 100% recommend.
