I am a 34 yr resident of wolcott, this vet said they are not taking new clients( although I've been there plenty of times) because they are understaffed. I said understaffed for a rabies shot for one dog they said yes! what's the point of this vet? why have one here if you can't service here? Very unprofessional place!

NB: They charge a fee for the administration of booster vaccines administered by a tech, so there is a de facto surcharge of $12 to the cost. I don't like hidden fees, so while the doctors are awesome, always get an estimate here.

On April 15th we had to put down our cat Deuce. With the cancer tumor in his eye it was time. I called Dr. Danetz in the morning (it was his day off) and we made the appointment for the afternoon. To my surprise, Dr. Danetz showed up and took care of our fur baby. My husband and I were so grateful that he cared enough to give up some of his day off. If we decide to get another cat in the future we will definitely bring him to Wolcott Vet Clinic. Thank you so much for the care you gave our Deuce. Marty and Debbie Desautels

My first visit with my 3 dogs was great. Dr wotton and all the staff was extremely caring and attentive to my 3 dogs. I’m impressed with the follow up research and care for one of my dogs that has an eye condition.

I've taken my cat(s) here for nearly 30 years and was always exceptionally happy with the care given by the owner, Dr. Jeff Miller. Since his retirement, the clinic is just NOT the same. Certainly over years, we develop a rapport with the Doc treating our pets, but it's not just the Doc. The entire staff seems less empathetic. On my last visit on Dec 13, my cat needed to have a very small procedure done. She apparently wasn't happy and literally screamed the whole time. When I peeked around the corner to try to talk to her to comfort her, the technicians AND Doctor Danetz were all laughing, as though it was funny! That was going to be my last visit! However, I reconsidered; thought it was just an "off" day. Today I called with somewhat of an urgent situation, tried to explain the problem & within 30 seconds was abruptly cut off by Mariah because she had "5 people waiting on hold". She said it was her opinion that the cat should be seen & scheduled me for the next day. I requested a call back from one of the doctors. Will update this review after the call. Received call back & Vet wanted to see my cat immediately. She was seen by Dr. Robbins, who was very nice (only spoke on phone due to social distancing). As it turns out, my cat was very sick & needed be euthanized immediately to prevent further suffering. Glad I persisted on getting a call back. Goes to show you that what may be interpreted as somewhat routine by one, could easily turn emergent. Office staff is the first point of contact & should always be pleasant, understanding & patient. An animal's life could be at stake! Update: 4/21/2020 So on 4/16 Dr. Robbins told me my cat had to be euthanized. It was scheduled for the next day. I spoke with Mariah (same receptionist I originally spoke with earlier on 4/16)and specifically asked her what the protocol was. She told me that although a distancing protocol was being followed for office visits because of COVID-19, exceptions were being made for owners of animals who had to be euthanized, and that I WOULD be permitted in the room when my cat was euthanized. I arrived at my scheduled appointment on 4/17 at 3:15, & was asked to wait in my car. 15 minutes or so later, Cheryl came out & said that the room was being prepared & that it would be a few more minutes. She asked if I was the only person that would be coming in. I said I was. By the way, I was wearing a mask. 30 min., that's right, 30 MINUTES LATER, after sitting in my car with my sick cat, extremely upset about the fact that she was to be euthanized, a person, who did NOT identify herself, came to my car & said I had "2 options"; either my cat would be euthanized in my car, or I would just have to hand her over to them, which is outrageous!! It was agreed upon that my cat would be sedated inside, then brought back out to my car until she fell asleep, & then brought back inside to complete the procedure. So apparently there really WASN'T a "protocol" regarding owners permitted in the room for this procedure! Despite the fact that Mariah said I COULD be in the room, Cheryl seemed NOT QUITE SURE, and somewhere in between, it was determined (by who, I don't know) that I was NOT going to be allowed inside! Why then, did I have to wait 45 minutes-what was the purpose of keeping me and my anxious, sick cat (who, by the way, hadn't used her litter box in over 4 hours) waiting outside in a car for 45 minutes!!!??? Did someone forget that I was even out there??? In summary, I can certainly understand special "distancing protocols" with regard to the current pandemic, but I would expect that the left hand should have known what the right hand was doing. There was total confusion, total lack of empathy, and total disregard for my feelings & most importantly, total lack of concern for my sick cat who had to be in my car for nearly 45 minutes before she was euthanized. ***All MIGHT, just MIGHT have been forgiven had I simply received a 30

I took my agoraphobic dog there today and they were amazing. I have never seen Her that “calm” at the vet. She got en exam, shots and her anxiety medication. Didn’t have to stop at the pharmacy. Amazing place.
