“Recently moved to Bristol, CT from Long Island, NY, and really needed tires. My tires were in horrible shape and since BJ’s sells and does tires, I decided to go there. BJ’s was able to move up my appointment and took my car in. After being there for 20 mins or so, the associate at BJ’s told me that my lug nuts were in just too terrible of a condition to continue the job. In a panic, being new to the area and STATE, I did some research and saw that J&M tire was right down the block. I walked in and told them my plight and the associate assured me that it could be done. After an hour, I was out the door with 4 brand spankin’ new tires and new lug nuts! What cost me at BJ’s for just tires, $721, was merely over $500 at J&M. So if you need tires and are in a pinch or just don’t want to break the bank I highly recommend going to P&W! The service there was friendly, quick and efficient, you won’t be disappointed.”

“Had a tire that wasn’t holding air and was going soft. A slow leak.
Called Town Fair Tire and was met with an automated voice. Waited 5 minutes on hold before I was connected with someone.
I asked how much it would cost to look at my tire and approximate price on a patch. Was told the service was free… I said “free? you’d patch it for free?”. They said, “well how much it costs depends on the issue…” and I said “oh so it isn’t free then…?”… they didn’t answer and they asked if I wanted an appointment. They were able to “squeeze me in” today at 3. They said the appointment would be “90 minutes long, give or take”.
Usual rigamarole you get when it comes to chains/corporate entities.
Feeling a bit disillusioned, I call up Al on the phone at this business. I give them the same spiel. “We can take you in immediately, we welcome walk ins” they say, and “a patch would definitely be under $40. We’ll take a look at it and have you in and out.”
The confidence, affordability, and direct line to the men working on my tires had me cancel my Town Fair appointment immediately.
I pull in and chat with Mike, a younger gentleman that worked on my tires as we chatted. I was allowed to look into the garage as he worked, and he walked me through exactly what was up with my tires. No patch needed. Just needed my rims brushed/cleaned as a spot of oxidation caused a weak seal between the rim and tire, causing a very slow leak.
Friendly guys, we blabbed the whole time… and Mike had my tire back on before I even realized he was finished, and was given an even lower price than the estimate. Was in and out in under a half hour. I asked to be charged a bit more so Al and Mike could get themselves a coffee.
How small businesses should be. Transparent, friendly, direct. Never had such a pleasant experience in any auto-adjacent shop. Support these guys, they’re great.

“I have had this Rx7 for about 5 years now and this was its first alignment. Mainly because of installing all aftermarket suspension over the years/not knowing who I’d trust bringing it to. TJ and others at MGB took excellent care of my car. I am super happy with my alignment.

Well I fell in love with it and with the amazing assistance of the salesman that took me for a test ride, he got me into the car I now loved. “Incredible service! I found myself in an emergency 45 mins into a road trip with two small kids. My oil change from the day prior (elsewhere) was pouring out and despite filling it at a gas station wouldn’t hold oil. They took me in immediately- personally drove to buy the part needed to repair the poor work from the day before. Showed me the issue, helped me take videos to document and gave my kids frozen go gurt while they repaired the job and cleaned up the whole mess from the prior job. 100% recommend for incredible service, efficiency and pricing.”
