GWT is the camp you want your child to attend because it honors the child’s individual interests while building a positive community.

GWT has been one of the best things we’ve done for our kids. It started 10 years ago with a one week trial for our very sensitive 9 year-old. He slowly worked up his way to 2 weeks, 5 weeks, then CIT, and Jr counselor! His younger brother joined him several years in, and then their cousin who is now a CIT!
The staff is always understanding and helpful, plus quick to respond with any concerns.
We first found Greenwood Trails because it is a nut-free camp, but stayed because of the fun and growth the kids have, and the care and experiences they get!

Greenwood Trails was our son's first sleep away camp experience. We could not have been happier with how smooth everything operates. From communication to first time families, to pre-camp visit day, and check in day. BUT most importantly, our son had a blast. He made friends, tried new activities, (was off screens for two weeks:)) and had a safe place to practice his independence away from home. Would recommend!

My introverted niece with enormous social anxiety thrived here. The first couple days were rough, but then the magic hit her. She came home with beautiful, heartwarming, and funny stories, new friends she adores, and begging to return next year. Best decision I made was to send her here. I believe she learned more about herself and her own strengths in these 2 weeks than she has in the last several years. And of course, she had glorious fun, declaring, "I didn't even really miss my cell phone."

My daughter Nwamaka is soooo excited about Greenwood trails camp this summer!! She had such a wonderful experience last summer and cannot wait to go back. My other two are sad there not able to make it this year. Greenwood Trails by far has been the best camp experience my children have ever had!! I love, love Owen, Andy and all of the staff that I've interacted with. Everyone is so pleasant and helpful!

Greenwood Trails creates a remarkable atmosphere in which kids flourish. My rising 4th and 6th grader attended during summer 2021 (a tough year for camps to make work!) and both came out clamoring to return next year. I was surprised it could be such a positive experience for two kids who are very different. The confidence they gained at camp also carried into the school year - my normally socially anxious daughter who had not been in a classroom for 18 months came out of her first weeks of middle school bubbly about connecting with other kids. I am quite sure we owe her newfound social comfort entirely to GT. My sports-focused son also loved everything about camp and particularly the option to complete trails. As a parent, I was blown away by the amount and the thoughtfulness of communication from camp staff. The photos parents receive while the kids are there provide a perfect window into what they're up to (and their beaming faces!). I didn't grow up attending sleepaway camp and had no idea what to expect. Sending our kids to GT fostered remarkable growth and they sure had FUN, too!

Owen's judgement is lackluster or bad at best. His groundskeeper will steel your wallet if given the chance. Would you trust your children with people like this?

Two of our three kids had their first sleep-away camp experience last summer at Greenwood Trails. It was actually the first time they had been away from home for more than a few days for any reason, so we were all a bit anxious--to say the least. I started to relax at the drop-off, when the kids were somehow whisked away in a happy hoard and never looked back. I fully relaxed when we had our phone call with the kids after the first week, and they breathlessly told us all about how much fun they were having and reeled off the names of all their new friends and didn't mention a word about missing us. When we picked them up a week later they acted like seasoned, independent campers -- eager to show us around the place and to tell their little sister that she HAD TO go next year (she was sold -- and all three will be attending together for the 2022 summer). There was not a single complaint. Our kids are VERY different from each other, and they both found plenty of activities that they loved. For one, the highlight was the trapeze (she has actually continued with trapeze locally since getting home, after getting completely hooked on it at GT). The other was enamored with all the sports and competitions. He is also now on some sort of mission to do some crazy number of different activities over the course of what he presumes will be a long camp career, and thus earn some sort of reward involving a walking stick with bands of colored tape around it (yes, he is a little competitive). We have been nothing but impressed with this camp's administration, from our first interactions through to the last day pickup--these people are ON IT. This was especially appreciated last year since we were all freaking out about COVID going into the summer and we were putting a lot of faith in this camp. GT just consistently said the right things, with the right tone, at the right time to keep us at ease and confident that our kids would be in good hands. Then they delivered as promised. With all the chaos last year, these guys were like a model in organization, communication and responsible/rational behavior. We are super excited for our 9 year old to get to join her sister and brother this summer, and can't wait to see her come home a more mature, confident and independent version of herself -- just like her siblings did.

My son went in being very nervous about being gone for two weeks as well as making friends. His first words when we picked him up is that he absolutely wants to go again next year. What else can I say? He had an amazing time.

Coming out of 18 months of quarantining, my children were able to get back to a sense of normalcy at GWT. They felt safe, and were able to enjoy time with friends they have made over the years. Thank you GWT!

Both of our children spent their first summer at sleepaway camp at Greenwood Trails this past summer. They did a two week session. This camp was perfect for them. My ten year old son has a peanut allergy as well as other allergies and has been pretty skittish about sleepovers, even at home, as a result. Greenwood Trails has a no nut policy which he loved and he worked with the chef regularly to find food that he could eat. Our eight year old daughter was excited to go to sleepaway camp. They had very different experiences. Our son tried a lot of different activities including archery and trapeze (new this year) while our daughter focused mainly on science and some kayaking. My son sobbed when it was time to leave and wanted to stay longer. My daughter was done when it was time to leave but she wanted to go back for longer next year and I think it would be good for her as it would allow her to deepen her relationships. The counselors were great about communications and giving us tours ahead of time to help ease the kids into the experience and to give us peace of mind while they were away. We received photos every night from the camp (and since we weren't receiving letters from our kids, we could guess at what they were doing even if we didn't exactly know).

My kids have been going here for 4 weeks in the summer for the last 6 years. Every summer they have returned home having enjoyed their time at camp and made lots of new friends. They play sports, learn various arts and crafts, even perform in musicals and plays. Great for getting the kids disconnected from their daily routine and out from in front of a screen or online.
