A old Toyota RAV4 cost me over $150 per day. It was absolutely disgusting. The seats were completely stained and had cigarette burn holes. It also had some sort of water leak because the floor mats were wet and made anything we put on the floor wet.

Avis has the bigggest scam going on. The constanty charge a bogus cleaning fee for smoking and a bogus fuels charge. I would tell everyone stay away unless you like to constantly have to call and waste time weekly to get credits. As the photo shows car is in avis garage drop off with full tank but i still got charged for fuel.

One guy at the preferred counter. I’ve been waiting at least 15 mins. I’m on the preferred board but don’t have a space or a car. I’m losing faith in Avis across the country. Lately I’ve had to “verify my identity” repeatedly at counters across the US. Frustrating. Especially since I travel for work. As a member with 300 days of rentals last year, this is unacceptable.

No hassle at the counter. LISA WAS FANTASTIC. Very professional, personable and had a great attitude. Super nice with a wonderful smile. There was a guy named Lugo there too. Very helpful, seemed like he was assisting a bunch of people at the same time. Handled the stress well. Great Winning Team!

Got locked out of car due to dead battery on key. Purchased new battery payed $10.00 . Used my AAA service to open car. No manual key available for emergency. Lost 2 hrs during ordeal. Very disappointing.

Hoping MGT at Avis will get this message and do something to help the appalling situation of being understaffed to meet the needs of those picking up a rental car at Fort Myers Airport. ONE HOUR standing in line to rent a car. Outside of car dented, scratched and filthy! Unbelievable.

Rented a car with my co-worker, the first car we received had a check engine light with a note about the transmission issues about 1 hr after leaving the airport, we also noticed the plastic piece by the mirror was falling off. We hit a bump and it fell in my lap. Returned it and the rep didn't apologize for the inconvenience or anything. She acted like she had a stick up her arse. The second vehicle we had was an Acura SUV. Soon as we left the "tool" light came on saying maintenance was overdue. The car smelled like Snoop Dogg rented it right before us. The windshield wiper was torn (it was raining too). While we were driving it the wheels sounded like they were grinding, my guess is that it was the wheel bearings. Got to the hotel and we happened to look at the tires, the front driver tire looked new, but the front passenger tire was completely bald. Completely unacceptable for a rental, these vehicles are a serious safety hazard that can end up in a lawsuit.

Only issue I had was windshield washer fluid container was empty and I could not effectively clean off slush/snow getting on windshield from other cars. Hard to see through streaks. Should have checked fluid level. Other than that Hyundai G70 was great.

Overall - the rental experience from the Hartford Bradley location was much better than the last several. The preferred board and app were working - big plus! There was a car available - this has been a recurring problem with this location. However, the car assigned was an EV in the middle of winter, in a frigid cold snap, in the midst of the news reports showing people unable to charge in the frigid weather. Luckily i was able to upgrade to an appropriate vehicle, but the availability of other options was quite limited. And to note, I am not opposed to EV rentals - I just want to choose when that is an option for my plans.

stay away from Avis. The car they first put me in was filthy and needed air in the tires. This was after waiting in line for ever at the counter because my plane was late and preferred was closed. the next car was cleaner, but couldn't find the keys. I knew they had to be in the car because it started. The two people at the desk could care less about my experience. fortunately the guy in the booth helped me look for the keys so I could be on my way. That took us 10 minutes and all I wanted was to get a car that would work for the weekend without troubles and get on my way. Time is money Avis and I had decided to give you a second chance and you blew it. Never again.
