My car is in the shop... had it towed there Wednesday and the garage (D and M in Winsted) cant even be bothered to look at it yet.... 6000 miles ago I had them do extensive front end work and put new tires on it. I contacted/brought it back twice and told them there was some kind of problem, like binding up on steering, they said there was no problem... well now my "Good/new" tires are bald to the metal on the outer side of the 2 front tires.... and they won't call me back... Sucks to be without a car but it sucks even more when you spend almost $3k on a vehicle and then people don't stand by their work.... Waiting and hoping they make it right....

Good customer service and they know what they're doing. Last summer I paid more than double for the same brake job elsewhere, and I believe prices have gone up since then due to inflation too. D&M helped my wallet out and were also the most professional I've worked with.

I brought my Subaru to them after they were recommended to me, for multiple work that needed to be done, including things that other mechanics at other establishments had messed up….. not only did D&M call me every step of the way before doing anything on the car, they treated me above and beyond in person, they knew I was on a budget and did everything they could to stay in the budget but also have me driving safely on the road, the in person customer service was great the over the phone service was great and they gave me some things to keep in mind for the future which I will DEFINITELY be giving them by business from now on ? thank you again!!!

I could not be happier with my experience with D&M and the work they did- it was the best and quickest experience I've had with a repair shop. Very honest and fair price, communicated every step of the way and they got my car running and back on the road in a few days of bringing it in. Highly recommend
D&M Autoworks Sales and Service to anyone. They have definitely earned my business in the future.

NO TRANSPARENCYIn the search for a shop that could take a look at 2 spots where the exhaust is leaking, I was referred to this shop. When I made appt they said come down and we'll take a look. They drove it in and 20 min later come out and say that they can't spot weld as there's nothing to tack on to so a complete exhaust system is $2,100 and the diagnosis charge is $58.00. Why wasn't I told this when I made the appt and /or before they took the car in?? Had no idea they charged for taking a quick look. It ain't like they're diagnosing a wiring problem. They said to me that the exhaust was worked on a few times previously when I know that's not true as that exhaust system was installed brand new out of the box. I installed it myself 4 years ago and didn't have to modify anything but hang it and bolt it. I have extensive car knowledge but was not looking to have to fix it myself. They also said there was a flattened down spot as if someone hammered it to clear a frame brace. That's also not true. The factory exhaust comes the same way to clear the brace, duh!! Oh, the stories!! And that's why I don't go to shops! I figured I could save some money and time by having the few rotted spots cut and welded. Instead, I just gave away free money.$2100 for a complete exhaust from the manifold down. Why?? When I know the cats are still in good shape and not rotted. I can buy the rotted parts for $353 and install them myself! Well, now $411 after giving away $58 for charity. Why would I pay $2,100?? Seems to me like a stealthy way to make money for those non mechanical people. And I'm using stealth vs crook to be nice. Someone else not mechanically inclined would' ve agreed and paid $2,100. Not here. $58.00 is enough for me.My advice is next time you get a new potential customer, be TRANSPARENT and tell them if there will be a charge or not before you take the keys. You knew I was a new customer as you asked for my information so can't use the excuse that I knew there's a charge. I've never been there before obviously and make it a last time. This place has a 5 star rating and there may be reasons for that. Average non mechanically inclined customer will seemingly get a great deal and service not knowing the real truth about the service. I have a right to say this based on your statements about thinking the exhaust was worked on which wasnt. I'll reserve my other reasons as I've said enough.Car does not need a complete exhaust! ?

I used D&M Autoworks for an oil change and tune up for the first time this past summer. The management is helpful and respects the customerPrices are fair and reasonable. I had switched to D&M after servicing at the dealer. As a Senior ('old lady'), I would not accept the poor treatment and very high prices at the dealer . I am so glad I switched to D&M. I have my next appointment there this week.

I bought a car from these people about 2 months ago. in that time, the transmission started slipping shifting from 2ns to third gear within a week and a half. After that the engine started running very rough, My code sensor told me "#4 cyli8nder misfiring". I took it to the shop they bought me a new coil pack, an "Up-flow O2 sensor, and 1 spark plug. I've never been taken advantage of so badly! I wouldn't do business with them if I was you! SHADY!!!Service: Engine repair

I was 14 hours from home on a two week road trip when my new ford ranger decided to be a ford and breakdown. They fixed it and had me on the road within a few hours. Everyone there was super nice and knowledgeable. They totally saved my road trip! And my sanity!Service: Engine repair
