The entire staff is incredible- compassionate, highly responsive, accommodating, friendly, etc. We’ve rotated vets within this clinic, based on availability, and each one is thorough, knowledgeable, patient, and tries to make my anxious dog as comfortable as possible.
Dr. Maxwell has been exclusively treating my dog the past 5 months for a variety of issues- from inexplicable, chronic vomiting & gas to a nail injury (entire nail tore off). The nail injury required many visits to properly treat it and it has healed beautifully. The vomiting persisted, so he was treated for dehydration, administered blood work, Xray & an ultrasound. The ultrasound uncovered a small, foreign object in his stomach, but no other serious concerns from the X-ray or ultrasound. So glad we did that work. Dr. Maxwell has excellent bedside manner, doesn’t rush the appointments, provides a good course of treatment and is so sweet to our dog.
We moved from out of state, too far from the clinic my dog has been going to for the past 4 yrs, and needed a new vet. We first came to South Wilton Vet for routine care in order to get a sense of the quality of care and realized immediately this was our new clinic.
I could not disagree more with the other reviews on here with respect to this clinic being “money hungry.” I’ve never once experienced the staff pushing unwarranted procedures, tests, vaccines or products on us. Are they expensive? Yes, but so was our former clinic in Nashville and they provided exceptional service as well. People either ignore the fact that clinics have overheads or struggling financially and can’t afford to treat their animals. Im sure the latter is incredibly frustrating, but personally, we would pay any kind of $ for our dog. I’m also not a vet, so I’ll never know if we’re being taken advantage of, but our dog is happy and healthy.. that’s what matters to us.
Tl;dr - we are extremely happy here and the prices are worth the spend!

Dr. Schunk at South Wilton Veterinary Group has been absolutely the best exotics vet for my senior iguana. She has consistently given us the best care and has really spent a ton of time with us. I can't say enough good things about her depth of knowledge, her compassion, and her commitment to her patients.

Very nice welcoming people, Dr.Stephanie Williams was very nice, n attentive. Made me feel like she cares about my guinea pig, Otis as much as i do. The other doctor that assisted her was also very sweet and patient with my baby.The place looks very clean n well kept, I highly recommend this place!

Wonderful place and you can tell that the staff truly care. They do an excellent job at explaining conditions, procedures and medication. Anytime that my guinea pig has had a health concern, they'd always call and check up after to see how she was doing. Would highly recommend

As a vet med professional myself it was so nice to see such a great team work together. Although my particular situation ended in sadness, I appreciate the attention, compassion and support this staff provided from the moment I walked in. From the receptionists to the techs to the doctors - everyone was so wonderful and comforting.

First off, I wish I could give 0 stars. THIS PLACE IS ALL ABOUT MONEY AND DOES NOT CARE ABOUT THE ANIMALS! I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE! I called them just about 9 am about a sick bird that needed to be seen. They gave me an appointment for that morning for 10:20. I told them that I have never been there and that I was about an hour's drive from them. They said they do not book any appointments without a $50 deposit paid up front. I gave them my credit card information over the phone and booked the only appointment that they had that day for 10:20. After I paid, she said that they would be emailing me a couple of forms that needed to be completed before they would see me. I completed both forms online as quickly as I could, this took me about 10 minutes to complete. I then packed my sick bird up and left. I had an hour to get there. Well, I got stuck in a big traffic jam in Danbury which put me back about 15-20 minutes. I called them to let them know that I was going to be about 15-20 minutes late because I was stuck in traffic, and she told me that if I was more than 10 minutes late that they wouldn't see my bird and I would have to reschedule to another day. I told her again, that my bird was very sick and that I called multiple avian vets and that they were the only ones that had an available appointment and I had just spent about an hour driving there and was STUCK in traffic which affected me getting there. She then put me on hold and then came back and said that she checked with the doctor and if I am more than 15 minutes late I need to reschedule. They called me back at 18 minutes and I told them that my gps said I was less than a minute away and they told me sorry, we won't see your bird today. You will need to reschedule. I literally pulled in the parking lot 30 seconds later and after driving over an hour and having a sick bird they charged me a $50 missed appointment charge and refused to see my sick bird! These people DO NOT CARE AT ALL about people's pets. I offered to stay and wait as long as needed or to drop my bird off so that could examine her when they had time and I was told no. They kept my $50 deposit and charge me for a missed appointment. THIS PLACE IS ALL ABOUT MONEY AND DOES NOT CARE ABOUT THE ANIMALS! I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE!

Incredible team of vets and staff. Very thorough; no stone is left unturned. I always feel listened to, things are explained clearly to me, and my rabbit is given the best care possible. SWVG has multiple vets who are highly knowledgeable about rabbits, which many other vet clinics do not have. Highly recommend them!

So glad we found this vet. Not a lot of groups have an avian specialist and we were looking to develop a relationship with someone locally. Staff is incredibly friendly, welcoming and understanding. Highly recommend.

Marshmallow had to visit South Wilton Vet hospital because of an emergency this morning. Just want to say thanks for a great experience start to finish. Marshmallow was very well cared for and everyone showed genuine concern for him.

I had a fantastic experience with Dr. Rosen and the rest of the staff at South Wilton. Everyone was so attentive, kind, and caring from start to finish. Dr. Rosen did an amazing job explaining everything to me and thoroughly going over my dog's exam, medical history, and discussing options moving forward. I am so glad I found South Wilton and am excited to continue to bring my dog there in the future.

I have always found SW Veterinary practice very responsive. It is not always the outcome I would like and in most cases, and my pets were very sick and/or old. In all cases, you act w/ such compassion and everyone seems so competent.
