The site offers great products but their customer service is horrible. I spent $74.99. Free shipping was offered for $75, but they refused to honor the free shipping. In addition they wouldn't let me add to the order to meet the threshold for free shipping. Their response was that orders could not be changed or cancelled. The same products are offered on Amazon for less with free shipping. I will never order from the site again and I suggest no one else does. The single star if for their product line but they deserve negative stars for customer service.

I bought their grocery store set for $295 direct from their website & paid $20 shipping, only to find it for $139 at target (not even on sale) with free shipping. I emailed them to see if they would price match multiple times and they never so much as returned my email. I will never shop direct with them again. It would have been over $100 to return the item to them. It’s unacceptable to post something on your website for $150 more than everywhere else and it is scamming people out of their hard earned money.

So i know you may see this is a little thing...but I must vent. I placed an online order for around a hundred dollars with Melissa and Doug and immediately saw i had ordered 2 of the same item. I promptly contacted them and basically it was "sorry we can not help you. if you read our policy you would see we cannot alter or cancel orders". This reflects poor customer service in my book. I felt they were cold and impersonal. If you purchase on line from them, check your order before you hit submit!

Beware if you order from Melissa and Doug ... I started my order , came back without logging in and somehow the site must have retained my prior visit . I definitely didn't order multiples of the same toys but they insist I did and will not pay for return shipping so that I can get a refund for the extras . I'll donate the extras and I will not shop at Melissa and Doug ever again .

Be wary of purchasing from Melissa and Doug. I thought the company sold quality toys that were child safe. This turned out not to be true with the Wheels on the Bus Puzzle I bought. They also do not stand behind there products. I spent over $150 on toys and this puzzle chipped after two weeks. I called Customer Service and the Rep told me that I would receive a new one in a week. A week later, she emailed me that sh needed a picture of the puzzle which I immediately sent. A week later she emailed me that the product was out of warranty and they would not replace it .The puzzle was in only use for two weeks. I feel they were deceitful in how they handled this situation and how they did not stand by their product and there verbal commitment to me. I am extremely dissatisfied and will not purchase from them again.

Im a retailer and they sell defective products and sometimes they will shortship products. They won't respond to emails, will never buy from them again.

We use to love melissa and doug toy's but it seems alot of the toys are painted with toxic paints not to mention the toys can break so easy !! Honestly i find the Wooden Toy's at (MASTER MIND TOY) store are much better and amazing customer service !! Melissa and Doug did great making toys when they had children but that was 30 somthing years ago ?Little Reminder for parents Melissa and Doug SOLD their toy company so you are no longer supprting their brand why not switch to a better toy company ?

I ordered 3 sticker books on december 8th for my daughter for Christmas. I was supposed to get them on the 14th, two days later nothing. I called and was told the package was never picked up by carrier so I would need to place the order again. I asked if the package would get to me by Christmas, customer service representative said probably not. I asked if they could sent it via priority since someone other than me dropped the ball, she said no. I asked to cancel the order, she said she couldn't and that I would need to wait, receive the new package and then send it back. I asked if I would get refunded for the $10 shipping fee I was charged when I originally ordered and she said no. It's completely unacceptable! I understand things happen especially around Christmas time but charging me shipping even though I never got the package and refusing to cancel the order before it's even shipped is ridiculous! I will never buy another Melissa and Doug product.

I purchased the Melissa and Doug easel companion. Unfortunately the box was damaged upon delivery. The chalk were broken upon opening package. Called and emailed Melissa and Doug customer service. Poor customer service and they wouldn't take responsibility of the broken chalk.

Absolutely love the Melissa & Doug product line, especially the giraffe.My granddaughter loved it when she opened it up Christmas morning, she was 2, even now at 7, she loves using it for photo shoots.Well made, I highly recommend. 5+ Stars!

Grandfather bought grandson wood rings like days of old. In one day a ring broke, paint chipped and base cracked. DANGEROUS. Made in China I do not now trust any of their products. Paint? Do right make them in US and don’t con people with statement that toys comply with US standards. Either they don’t or the standards are weak.

I am impressed. I bought a box with four vehicles. The fire truck was missing one piece. I called hoping to get just the one piece shipped to my home in Tn. I was pleasantly surprised when one week later a brand new box with all four puzzles. AT NO COST TO ME!!!!!! I am going keep them in mind when my foster baby's birthday comes around.

If you would like to end up with no gift for a birthday party, order from Melissa and Doug. If you spend more than $50 and they pay freight, be sure that they will get the cheapest carrier service possible, and that you will have no options but to just wait, with no delivery commitment (except the cheery one you received when you placed the order). Gee, I wonder why I receive my Amazon purchases overnight or on my selected Amazon delivery date, but it has now been more than 2 weeks and 6 days beyond the latest commitment given by M & D, and I still have not received my packages. What I did receive: RMA's to return the packages when/if they arrive. How wonderful is their customer service!!! After 4 calls and 2 disconnects from M & D, I give up. Their toys may be good (which I don't know since I haven't received them) but their customer service and logistics are HORRIBLE!!! I think they have a juvenile mindset which is great for toys, but not so good for delivering and satisfying customers. Hello, Amazon Prime. One more reason to love you and leave these third rate performers behind.

If you like missing parts, bad service and wasting your money, go for it. I ordered a Christmas gift, Christmas and we are now in February, and it was missing parts. When I called it in and placed a complaint, I hadn't heard anything in weeks. When I called again they couldn't find the complaint order because the lady put my name in wrong, and the manager was being so unhelpful and she clearly didn't know what she was doing. Now in February I get it, and it's not even complete! This is a joke, by the time they get it to me, if they get it to me, it will be useless because my son will be grown out of it. They need to refund my money because I didn't even get what I paid for!

We purchase the breakfast caddy and spent quite a bit of money on it. One year my kids really got into Melissa & Doug so we bought a lot of Melissa & Doug items. I am pretty disappointed with the phone call that I just was on. They referred to it as the same thing as drying up as a dry eraser. Okay a dry erase marker is going to go out I get that part. But not liquid in it toys I feel like if they're going to make a product let's put something in it that is not going to dry up so quickly where the toy is not going to be worth anything when you're done with it. I'm very disappointed in the way that they compared it to a dry erase marker. Also I'm very disappointed in the quality with the amount of money that goes into Melissa and Doug. I I've even purchased many Melissa & Doug items when we were collecting them and I would purchase things all cracked up and they chipped very easily. I feel like if they're going to charge this much for a product that they should make it a lot better quality than what I have been seeing. Now I have a toy that the liquid are all dried up and I don't even know when we're done with it if it's going to be worth anything. So essentially in my brain I have lost all my money. This is all based upon my opinion and what I have experienced in Melissa & Doug product. I don't really have much more confidence in the product anymore from what I have been seeing things get chipped easily damaged easily. I feel like with a big company like this I expected a lot more. I will not be buying any more Melissa & Doug items.
