About Connecticut Friends School
Connecticut Friends School is a play-based, child-centered preschool guided by Quaker values: Simplicity, Peace, Integrity, Community, Equality, and Stewardship. It is a special place described as a hidden gem and a creative wonderland. The school's philosophy is Reggio Emilia inspired, with a responsive program that customizes curriculum based on each unique group of children. Under its caring administration, the school has become a strong source of community. The director is noted as passionate, warm, hands-on, and deeply caring about student wellbeing, often spending time in the classrooms. The teachers are consistently described as wonderful, amazing, nurturing, experienced, and Reggio trained. They provide loving oversight where children blossom, grow, develop, and become empathetic and kind. The beautiful, quiet grounds allow children to spend significant time outside on messy nature adventures. It is a thriving community with genuinely friendly families, hosting events like Halloween parades and potlucks. Parents report children are excited to go to school every morning and never want to go home, feeling grateful for this amazing team.

Wonderful teachers and administration (Miss Linda is so greatl!). The kids get to spend so much time outside, which is really fortunate as the grounds are so beautiful and quiet. “Curriculum” is very play based and is Reggio Emilia inspired.
