Just giving a two star because the lake and beach was good. Besides everything about this camping place is pretty bad. I see some good reviews here. I do agree with them if it was a couple of years ago. Then we received great service and things were so good and we returned back this year and got disappointed. We were a group of 10 families and about 35 including small children. Charge us per person rate which is pretty high for such a place. We seen well behaved crowd. We were there for a bit of family time. No partying or booz.Staff’s gave us a feeling that we weren’t welcome there. Just collected money and yes/no answers for most enquirers if at all we could meet someone. Office was closed most of the time and never called us back when leaving a voice message. The toilets were pretty bad. They just have one restroom with two toilets and two showers. They never cleaned it during our weekend stay and left at the same condition throughout beside them hosting a large party on Saturday. They provide insufficient number of free life jackets for the lake. Those life jackets are not easy to access as office is closed most of the time. Finding a staff is tough and they wouldn’t open the store to give us some although we are standing just in front of the store. Life jackets aren’t provided even for a charge. Felt the place is dangerous. Asking staff there is pretty useless. Received unwelcome and angry replies and no mentality to help. One staff actually felt being unfair to us and apologized for the behavior later but that didn’t make us feel any better.Overall felt like they took our money and get out attitude. Very little fun here no one in our group is going back there.

This is the greatest privately owned campground in southern New England! I've been going there for more than a decade, and it is literally one of my favorite places on earth!

Fun adventure times with family and friends are the best here at this campground. I recommend this place to visit if your ever in the area!

Very accommodating and friendly people! We showed up in a rainstorm that made our original site a bit hard and they adjusted our site a few times giving us a beautiful lakeside spot! Paddle boat, canoes, kayaks for all guests to use! Firewood dropped off to our site, and owners had friendly conversation about our hockey sport travels - We enjoyed meeting Ian! We had a great time!

You get the sense this place is barely functioning.Upon arrival I had to wait for the owner to open the office. He wasn’t super friendly, kept calling me “bud”, and as others have stated the his accounting practices are less than desirable. He asked for a few nights payment even though I had paid the first night months ago. I never saw another employee. He didn’t offer a site map or any info about the park. He didn’t give me the wifi password. He just showed me to my spot. The shared bathrooms and showers are old, not very well maintained and frankly dirty and gross. There is no privacy. The water smells like sulphur. There was no soap in the dispensers and no paper towels at one point. It was peaceful at night but you can hear the constant din of highway traffic in the background.Because of my overall negative impression on numerous fronts, I won’t be returning.

Huge campground. A great place for RVs or tenters. Huge sites with beautiful fire pits and a lake with a beach and lots of water activities. Volley ball court, Basketball and horseshoes up front with a small playground. There was a band playing Saturday night and they did an amazing fireworks display for the 4th. Porta potties scattered around the campground and a real bathroom up by the office although it's just as dirty as a Porta potty. Only other complaint is they don't allow you to bring your own firewood and you're forced to buy their over priced wood (which was wet). Overall great place though and the people were all very nice!

Great spot for tent camping! The fire pit was huge and amazing looking with big boulder walls! Friendly, attentive staff and a gorgeous lake with canoes and kayaks for guests to use! Bathrooms by store had showers which was amazing and the store was stocked with great souvenirs and supplies! We will be back for sure!

I thought I reviewed this place already but I love staying here, especially during off season like in October. Great camp ground, kayaks are awesome but haven't caught a fish.... Yet lol I come back every year, it's a tradition. See you guys soon!Walkability: Ups and downs, so not manual wheelchair accessible if you don't have a push. Uneven terrain mostly but could be doable in crutches etc. Nice walking trails on location too.Noteworthy details: Excellent campground, love the fall colors around the lake in October!

We just spent our entire summer at Wilderness Lake and loved every minute of it! Everyone there made us so comfortable and welcomed. The owners Doug and Holli were so helpful and friendly, the staff including Josh and Teddy were just awesome as well. A fun family vibe, clean and beautiful grounds!! We’ll be back!

Staff.... especially Josh, was great! Campground was nice, tent sites are large and secluded. Lots of firewood for your money. Only one problem, the shower house is so far away from the tent sites we had to drive there. That's the only reason for four instead of five stars. Nice place to stay.

It definitely is my home away from home! I’ve been coming here for years. My wife and I just absolutely love the area. And the camp store is very well stocked also!!
