“Wow, what an impressive selection of plants! McCue Gardens doesn't just have a wide variety of native plants (as well as non-natives), Cindy really knows EVERYTHING about them. She couldn't have been kinder or more helpful in helping me choose some native plants for our front yard. What could have been an overwhelming and daunting experience was instead an opportunity for me to learn from a gardener's deep knowledge. She helped me choose the right plants for our soil and space, and she advised me on how to help them thrive.I'm so grateful to Cindy for being thoughtful about our yard, our family's needs, and the time we realistically have to allot to plant care. I felt that the plant prices were fair, especially considering how healthy they were and how much I learned from Cindy. Can't say enough positive things about this place and these folks.”

“Love this place for all things indoor plants! They have the best selection of pots in the area. Their “house made” potting soil is my favorite to use. I add some worm castings (also available at Woodland) for extra nutrients, though it’s just perfect out of the bag. Staff are very knowledgeable and helpful.”

“Come here from time to time. This store is HUGE. Prices are more than Nh... but so is everything so I don't really complain. Nothing *crazy* to state.... It's Home Depot not a nightclub but the plants always seem healthy. Last time I was here there was a confrontation between the police and an Asian gentlemen. I watched for awhile and nothing spectacular came of it. Kinda would say that's the *vibe* for this store. One other time this lady who worked here was rude... I was here right at opening and went to walk in and boy she shut those doors quick. Idk why they were unlocked but I didn't unlock them and thus was a little taken again. Figured that was just a once off. For all of these reasons, 4/5 ... maybe 85/100 if this was a test. We could call it a "B"”

“Top Shelf All The Way! Dave and his family are so incredibly nice and knowledgeable about all things plants and flowers. Their hearts are in their business; it is so evident they love what they do. Now - their flowers! The BEST I have ever gotten. They are so beautiful and long lasting. I have trimmed them as needed and they just keep blooming. The first flower arrangement was so pleasing, my husband went and bought me a second for our anniversary. They last so much longer than other ones I have purchased from local plant places. I'm attaching photos. Every time I look out and see my flowers, I am happy! Is there a better recommendation than that? :) I plan to be back for my yearly flower arrangement. I will go nowhere else. “I recently moved nearby and was curious about this Farm's offerings. My review exclusively focusses on the food-related Farm-stand part of the business. They sell plants and flowers, but I didn't pay attention to that aspect of their operations. Cold Spring sells some of their own produce, products from other CT Farms and/or Orchards, Cold Spring branded products such as salsa, and other area products such as bread from a local bakery. I bought green cabbage, peaches, celery and salsa. Everything seemed appropriate quality for seasonal CT produce. The produce I didn't buy also looked good and represented what's in season pretty well. I will definitely go back for in season produce since I live in the area. This is an observation as opposed to a criticism. The reason I'm giving Cold Brook 4 Stars rather than 5 Stars relates to the extent of their offerings compared to another Farm Stand I frequently visit that's a bit farther away. That Farm Stand has a wide range of partnerships with high end CT businesses and they have things like high quality bagels, cheeses, pies, cupcakes, ice cream sandwiches, etc. That Farm Stand also has a wider range of canned goods, meats, and dairy products etc. I would travel farther to a Farm Stand like that because there are more products that interest me. Cold Spring will be the place I go for convenience when I want in season produce for a few days.”

“From start to finish Aqua Scapes was a pleasure to work with and they did an awesome job installing my pond. it is quite evident that Rob and his team have a passion for their work. The pond is now a focal point of the yard and guests flock to it complimenting me on how beautiful it is. I enjoy sitting in my Adirondack chair listening to the soothing sound of the waterfall and watching the birds come for a drink and the fish swimming around. It is truly a piece of natural art! I highly recommend them!”

“I have been using this store for years and have never been disappointed with my orders. When my wife receives roses at her office everyone comments how beautiful the long stem roses look and they do seem to last longer than most store bought flowers. Family run business with owners who are on site and available.”

There's employees everywhere waiting to help out. All you got to do is look. They have supplies well stocked too. No problem with this here store. I like it.”

“My second time coming to this tree farm and it's the absolute BEST place to get your tree in CT!!! Came here on Thursday to pick up a tree and the man was so nice! Showed me and my mom all the different types of trees, cut down a beautiful Douglas Fir fresh for us, trimmed it, wrapped it and tied it to our vehicle all free of charge! Excellent customer service and where I will be going to get my trees year after year!”

I however know that this store doesn't offer the type of service you get at a mom and pop shop, but I have a great selection of things we need. We have made many purchases for us and our rentals, and military discount is a bonus.”

“Had a tremendous experience at this location, India and her co workers the customer care manager was exceptional to work with, she ensured that all my needs, cares were met before exiting the store. Their friendly nature and aim to provide solutions to problems should be a standard all customer service personnels must employ. Big Al with the beard (even though I know that's not his name) wonderfully assisted with my car rental and rightly so should be given a raise.I appreciate the staff and hope to continue working with them in the future.”

I came up Rebecca and asked if she could help me find the item, along with safety glasses. Rebecca was ultra helpful and friendly. Definitely will be back to this location.”

“Very convenient place to rent rarely used power tools. They are super helpful and will help you load and unload. The Home Depot app is also super convenient as it keeps track of inventory and lets you know how many of a particular tool they have, or if you have to look in a neighboring store.”

“Great little local pick up spot for heirloom and other quality seeds. The entrance is a bit difficult to find, it's just before the loading docks. They should put a little awning over the door with words like "welcome" or "showroom" or even a plaque above the door. Very cute little showroom. Definitely recommend ordering a seed catalog online. Buy local!”
