We have worked with Rich a few times over the years and can not recommend him enough. He is extremely talented and thoughtful. He will walk you through different options as he thinks through the architecture, aesthetics, vibe, coloring, etc of the space you need to light.

I had a great time meeting and working with Rich today! I have an antique light fixture and was searching for a replacement shade. Rich and I had a great conversation and did some problem solving together to come up with just the right solution. He also makes beautiful stained glass lampshades right in the shop. Rich is a pleasure to work with, a talented stained glass artist and meticulous master of all things related to lighting. His pricing is reasonable, turnaround times are quicker than expected, and his advice is always extremely thoughtful and professional. Rich refurbished the lamp in this photo and created the beautiful shade himself. Im looking for more lights to bring to him!

I brought a lamp in for repair. That worked out well. Unfortunately, I ordered a new lamp for $200 on March 17. I was required to make a partial ($107) payment and put it on a credit card. The store owner said the lamp would be available in 3 weeks. On April 20 I was told due to an error no order had been placed. He sent a new order and said it would be available in 1 1/2 weeks. It is nearly 8 weeks and I have no lamp and have not been contacted by the store. I'm working on a refund. I am very disappointed and have not had such a bad experience with a store in several years. If I had purchased it online, I would have had it by now. So much for brick and mortar stores. No wonder so many have closed. Obviously, I would not recommend this store to anyone.

We brought our tiffany lamp in after a referral from another store owner. They said the store in Wethersfield is the only one who could fix it. The lamp glass at the top was broken and it was round and curved---almost impossible to fix. Rich was amazing. As he's looking at the lamp his mind and creativity was burning a hole in the store roof. He took his time, got creative, employed artesian type style and found a solution. We are more than pleased to be enjoying our 43-year-old wedding gift again in our family room. My wife and I cannot speak highly enough about the service and the fair price.

I have a strange old lamp that has made its way through the family into my hands. It was in need of a lot of care and attention...the finish was chipping off and the original wiring needed to be updated. The owner was an absolute delight to work with! Very patient and knowledgeable, he re-finished the metal parts, cleaned the glass, and put in a new switch and wiring. This 100-year-old lamp looks as good as new, and has a new place of pride in my sitting room! I had a WONDERFUL experience and I will always bring any lamp projects here now. I will ALWAYS recommend this shop!

I recently had the pleasure of working with Richard. I bought 3 beautiful antique lamps with stained glass shades. I also had a lamp repaired and a ceiling fixture made for my own antique shade. Everything I purchased is top quality. Richard is extremely knowledgeable and gave me excellent advice. I look forward to working with him again.

Don't let the name fool you, this is a Full Service lighting business. Custom made lights, that you have to see to believe, a light repair center, on display items and catalog items as well Discount Lighting has it all. The lighting educational experience from Rich is what makes this place heads and shoulders above the rest. Rich really knows lighting. From type to the proper location he can answer all of your lighting questions. This place is truly a gem, well worth the stop and you will not be disappointed
