I walked Into Tailored home with a single lampshade and from that inspiration point Scott and Kathy and the whole TH family pulled together an assortment of fabrics colors and textures for drapes , pillows and a completely cohesive and dreamy bedroom executed with ease and precision. When we redecorated we knew the general direction of design we wanted but needed guidance and wanted quality made pieces, not something meant to be discarded at the next remodel. We chose The Tailored Home because their showrooms are bursting with creation and they offer interior design services plus they build their furniture in-house locally. Scott and Jhon interviewed us and we gave them some direction and they came back with a floor plan that we couldn’t have imagined because they designed furniture to best leverage the space. The wall colors, windows treatments and furniture materials selected were expressive yet livable. They built everything in a lead time that was less than most large companies and oversaw the installation. We’re enjoying our new space thanks to them!

Visually pleasing from the outside but nothing seems origional. Furniture is very Holly Hunt with a different designer fabric over it. KARE design makes absolute garbage. Its a little puzzling to see cheap plastic accessories next to high end furniture. I want to like it more and hopefully a new shipment of merchandise/more origional furniture designs will improve my personal opinion.

I can easily say that each piece of furniture I own from The Tailored Home is a masterpiece! The Tailored Home is a place you can go to with a partial idea of what you need/want and in return have an addition in your home that will be praised in every conversation. They know what they’re doing. It’s an honest company with high quality in fashion and form.

My husband and I have eaten at the lovely cafe here on several occasions; the food is great and staff are wonderful. However, today I ventured upstairs to peruse their fabric samples and was accosted by an incredibly rude saleswoman who angrily scolded me like a school child for daring to look at the fabric without an appointment. If that’s the policy, she should have informed me courteously and offered to make me an appointment. I will continue to work with Good Goods in Darien for my custom fabric projects; there I am greeted with cordiality and treated with respect.

I acquired a very cool but totally defunct swivel chair that needed to be fully repaired and reupholstered. Jhon and Scott helped me find the perfect fabric from their library (the library is amazing and inspiring and I loved the selection process!) and the chair came out beautifully. My husband and i worked with Jhon and Scott to transform our boring beige entry way to a show stopper and boy did they deliver. When we started we didn't know what we wanted and Jhon and Scott were somehow able to translate our scattered ideas into a beautiful cohesive vision. They also manufacture the furniture in their Norwalk factory, so delivery times are faster than outsourcing. After completing our entry foyer they redid my home office, which also came out beautiful. I only wish I had more unfinished rooms for them to work on.

I have purchased pieces from The Tailored Home for several of our properties. Some pieces were custom and others were recovered vintage pieces. We have also used their design services. Without any hesitation, I can genuinely recommend them and believe they are undiscovered talent that anyone that is serious about design and collecting should have on their radar.
