114 E Main St, Clinton“Great people, and they've always had what I needed. Tools, paints, bird seeds, drill bits, nails, screws, saw blades, shovels, you name it. Always someone there who knows a bit of what they are talking about, and they are actually helpful. I've never gotten lumber here but they have some. After going here you won't want to go the home depot anymore, Home depot is not worth the 2 bucks you might save to deal with unskilled people who aren't nice nor helpful.”

85 Bradley Rd, Madison“I've been coming here for about 15 years. Every customer experience I've had has been five start. They're very nice. They don't treat me like an idiot just because I'm not a carpenter. And they've even directed me to other businesses in the area if they don't have what I need.”

3 Main St, Centerbrook“This place is the FIRST hardware store that I've felt comfortable in. The staff are superb people, and treat everyone -- whether or not we know the term for a particular wing nut or not -- like human beings. BRAVO”

54 Halls Rd, Old Lyme“Amazing store and owner, my truck broke down in the parking lot. Old Lyme hardware had all the tools I needed and also let me barrow power tools to get my truck fixed and back on the road again. I was about 3 hours from home and thanks to them I was able to make it home.”

“BEST HARDWARE STORE IN CT!!!!These people KNOW what they are doing!!!!!!!!Extremely nice, knowledgeable!!!!!!!You definitely will not find this kind of service at a big box stores!!”
“Slightly higher prices than average but they store their wood nicely and they have a lot of stuff in stock, real people available to help you get what you want, and they can deliver too”
“There are two True Value stores at almost equal distances from my house: Killingworth and Country Paint and Hardware in North Branford. Both stores are well-stocked, and I can almost always get what I need at either one. Floor staff at both are friendly, helpful, and knowledgable. The difference is at the checkout stand. At Country, the cashiers will greet you with "Hi, how are you today? Did you find everything you needed?" They will then ring up your purchases and, at the last, politely ask for your phone number for the rewards program. But at Killingworth, without making eye contact or any greeting, the two usual cashiers bark "Phone number?" and engage you no further. Once you're done, you pick up your things and say to them, "Thanks, have a good day." They don't respond because they are barking at the next customer, "Phone number?" Leaves a bad impression. It takes so little to make a good one.”

132 Main St, Old Saybrook“Very clean, well organized store. The staff is extremely helpful and knows their products and where they are , when we checked out. They were extremely friendly, and the young guy who helped us gave my dog a biscuit. That writes him a five and a reason to return to the store for that alone. If you are the owner of this establishment, you should be very proud of your help. Particularly young guy at the register today.”
“Glad I found this place near my store in Clinton. The service is outstanding. True customer service I was treated with dignity and respect and they have a lot of patience to show me how to use the tool. Thank you. The job came out excellent hope to see you on my next project.”
