My experience renting my first car with Sixt was terrible and I felt like I got scammed I was given a car with some scratches on left side of the bumper at first they said this car has a small scratch and they don’t count as damage. However I rented the car for 2 days when the time of returning the vehicle to them, they accused me for the same scratches the car already had, and they charged me extra $1200 for something I have nothing to do with. But they can’t really prove anything at all, I have been renting cars from different places for the past 10 years and I have never seen something strange like this, I will never ever go back to this place again.

I have been there by booking online, And when I rented the car they said that they have an extra charge if you’re going out. And I was been given a stupid car which I didn’t like it and (personal choice) and this location has a stupid fleet and I was dissatisfied. I would not recommend this pickup location.
Also to add to the story, My booking was made for $216 and I have added tolls and when I went there I was told you will have an fee if you’re travelling outside state. And I told I was travelling to DC they charged me $108 for 3 days. And when I took the car, It did not have the apply play feature which I needed the most since I was travelling to DC and I need to check the maps while driving, Post seeing that I was very disappointed and returned the car in less than 45 mins from pickup. And they charged me $235 for the cancellation. It was so pathetic that my booking was $216 and they charged me 235 for cancellation and I had to pay 108 for the out of state fee where i did not even travel. Which was very worst.
And then I have raised a feedback on this and got a call back on 08/13 from Shannon the branch manager and explained all this story. And she heard a customer voice and made the cancellation fee minimal. Which I agree upon. But My card doesn’t still reflect (takes 5-6 days as told by shannon) will post an updated version Once I get it back on my card.
But however SixT has to make some improvements on this.

This rental car company is a scam they ask you to pay for tolls 5 dollar a day and still turn around and charge you for all the tolls. Terrible service just go to hertz or enterprise and charge for gas when I return the car full.

I rented a vehicle 2 weeks ago from this unscrupulous company. I used my debit card to pay for my online booking. I was called 2 days prior and was informed that they did not have the vehicle I reserved and that they would give me a different vehicle. With such short notice, I agreed because I needed to get to my son’s AAU basketball competition out of state. Another question was, will you be remaining in the tristate and New England regions because the unlimited miles only applied there and there would be additional charges if I drove to other states. I was so confused because there was no limitations on where I could drive when I booked. Anyway, when I went to pick up my vehicle, they wanted a $200 deposit so I gave my credit card. I was told that I would have to use the same card I used to book. I did not trust these people with my debit card so they suggested that they would cancel my debit card deposit and apply the total cost of $268.98 (my original rental cost) and $200 deposit to my credit card. They tried to convince me to purchase their insurance and I declined because I was already covered. They warned me sternly that I would be responsible for any damage to the vehicle whatsoever. Whether it’s a small ding. I was so uncomfortable the whole weekend the car was in my possession but I took it back in one piece. My credit card was billed and I was done with them. I promised myself to never rent from them ever. Fast forward two weeks later. I checked my bank account regularly and noticed that they took an additional $268.98 from my debit card fraudulently. I was so shocked that they had even saved my debit card info after they already deleted the initial payment and billed my credit card instead. I contacted the company the following morning and the woman that answered the phone was so rude when I explained what happened. Her response was that my bank approved the charge and I should call the bank with them on three way. I was flabbergasted that a “professional,” licensed business was acting like a scammer. They knew that the banks didn’t operate that way. I contacted Chase bank immediately and reported the fraudulent charge to my account. My bank recognized the double dipping into my account and reversed it but is now in the process of rectifying the matter with these fraudulent set of scammers at Sixt Car Rental. My family, friends and I would never do business with you ever again. To anyone reading this review, DO NOT RENT from them. You may pay a little extra at Enterprise or the other bigger companies but you’ll definitely have peace of mind. They are thieves. They should not be licensed. I’m definitely reporting to the BBB.

Shannon and her team came to the rescue when our group needed vans at the last minute. She followed up on an online reservation to make sure we had the proper information and even got us the best possible price. First class customer service all the way.

Unfortunately when arriving at the place they made it clear they had a SUV available for us but mid discussion while I was translating for my uncle who only speaks Spanish and was willing to purchase the car they changed their minds and told us they didn’t have anything available.. not coming back !!!!

I am writing to express my disappointment with the service my family and I received at your location recently. We felt that we were treated unfairly and possibly discriminated against. Initially, we were told that there was a car available for us, but then the staff changed their minds and informed us that there were no more cars. Additionally, the way they looked at us and interacted with my father, who speaks Spanish, made us feel very uncomfortable.
I hope you take this matter seriously and address these issues to ensure that all customers are treated with respect and fairness in the future.

What a wonderful establishment!! Top notch customer service! I have called with last minute needs and Shannon and the team always come through!! The fleet is beautifully and well kept. This is and will be my ‘GO-TO’ car rental location!

I never had a car company call me many times asking when I was gonna bring the car back. Ever!!! And I do rent a lot. Sometimes things happen and you need to extend your rental. Another company would just charge my card instead of keeping bothering me at work. Another thing that never happened to me, is the inspector of this place call me to see something wrong with the car when I was leaving the shop. That man was so rude and arr0gant since he brought me the car. When in other places people will just come to you with the keys, a smile and a “have a safe drive”, this ign0rant called me with the attitude to show all around the car. I took the car and left afraid if something was gonna happen. He showed me one rim was scratched when he gave me the car, when I came back, he said it was my fault. So they charged me 275 for that. Go somewhere else where they treat you well since the beginning, this place and that man won’t make you feel good at all about renting their cars!!!

Don't rent from them. You need to live within west haven to rent a car, EVEN THOUGH IT IS NOT ASKED DURING BOOKING. They WILL NOT GIVE A REFUND. Lost money for no reason when it was booked on accident and I noticed within 10 min of booking. They DENIED to refund me.
