I would give 0 stars if I could this place is a scam and should be reported.Let me start by saying i have been a client with HR block for 5 years. I didn't have issues till this year. When I chose the west haven branchI am a single mom, and so I have certain claims that I make with my children, I told Martin, my tax preparer of these claims more than once. I explained that in the past, I had to mail in my tax returns because my ex wrongly claimed my childrenI did two years of taxes this yearAfter my taxes were refused, martin told me that i needed to remove my son, to get them through. When I asked how to fix them, martian remained clueless. I said do I need to go to court, he claimed not to know how to fix it, and so took my son off. Never telling me that the correct way to fix them was to mail in the taxes (I only learned this when I called the IRS to see how to amend them and the IRS told me that the practice was shady.. explaining this often happens so a business can recharge to amend the taxes)I called and asked for a manager to call me back, three times before I got a call back from a manager. I was ill the day she called and she said she would call me back.I was never called backI called again to speak with a mangager, Martin called me back saying that he had in fact offered to mail in my forms, but I had told him to 'just take my son off" (which makes no sense because why would i refuse two years of tax credits)I again asked for a manager to call me, this was two weeks ago and i have heard nothingI paid over $900 to have this place do two years of taxes, which I now need to pay to have amended.. very dishonest practice

I was recommend to go to the place. I was suppose to see, I will say Mr. W. He was booked up so I chose, to see another lady, made an appointment get there I was told, she is with someone and has another customer sitting and waiting. I am like ok, I will see the available person. This lady did not know that she has to file my 1127 tax, because I work for the NYC and live in the state. Any way, because I made extra money on other things. This chick talking about I owe. Nah, I still made less that 100,000. I still have two defendants and property. Then in the next cubicle the lady, I was supposed to get is in the cubicle talking with this guy and he talking about his relationship history with his ex. Annoying! I was warned any way that HR Block is trash!! Don’t do it.
