Dollar general NO MORE!I’m a white woman in my 20’s with a mild case of Tourette’s syndrome.I came in to shop for an elderly client and myself.At first I was welcomed by a young woman that was kind and she and I spoke for a bit and laughed.But then things changed.The entire time I shopped, the owner or manager followed me around.I felt uneasy and didn’t understand why he would follow me from isles to isles; I just wanted to get out of there.There was a long line at the register and went around the middle isle decider but there was no one at the self checkout.So to make the girl’s day easier I went to self checkout.But as suspected the owner/manager followed me and watched as I rang everything out.As I was about to pay for my clients items, the owner/manager leaned over the register and said “you’re not supposed to be at self checkout. Did you scan everything?”At first I was a bit confused as to why he would ask me that especially since he watched me scan everything.Then he claimed there is a number limit for the self checkout.I asked him what the limit was and his rude reply was “obviously less than what you have.”He then called 2 workers over and they all repeated what he I spoke about as the watched me scan (separate order) my 5 small items.I asked again what the limit was and no one had a straight answer.I then explained I only went in self checkout because the register line was super ridiculous and I didn’t want to add to the girl’s stress (I pointed to the line).I then explained that they should help her instead of following random customers around the store in hopes to start trouble.I also pointed out that if there is a limit to self checkout (which I believed to be unlikely) then there should at least be some type of sign somewhere to notify their customers like every other store that has a limit.As I finished my entire order I was about to leave, the owner/manager leaned over the register again, and said “did you scan everything?”I looked at him in disbelief.I couldn’t believe that he watched me shop and scan everything I had and still had the audacity to ask and to continue to insinuate that I would steal.I held out both of my receipts and said “since you watched me shop for everything, and scan everything, would you like to read my receipts?”He shook his head no.I then said “the way you conduct this store is not how you conduct business. The amount of anxiety you forced upon me today is going to make my tics extremely violent later. I know you could care less but I will never shop here again.”On my way out I wished the girl at the register the best, a great day and a great holiday. I also told her to remember to breathe when she feels overwhelmed and assured her she will get through it.She said thank you and I left.And yes, my tics/twitches were extremely violent that day.I will never shop at a dollar general again.The way the conduct things is shameful.If you don’t trust your customers to ring themselves out, then don’t have self checkout, and have more than one register open especially during the holiday season.

Tried to use a coupon from my phone and the guy working register seemed irritated about that and when an issue occurred instead of helping he rushed the transaction and didn't give me my receipt. Tried emailing corporate about it since the only reason I went there was for the deal. I like the deals they have from time to time but don't hire and/or retain individuals that hate their job, it's bad for everyone at that point

Have no issues with the store, just had a terrible experience with Rosemary the cashier. She needs to learn patience and proper customer service protocol. Gave her $20.25 to take out $1.07, she gave me $19.06 for change. I told her she short me and she insist that it was correct. I asked if I can have a receipt, please.She said it is at the bottom with an attitude, like I was supposed to know. I have not been to that store in a long time. Told her, "I gave you $20.25 and you gave me $19.06, you short me, her response while giving me the change was, "it was not that serious." I never said it was that serious. Then I told her, "you know what, it is that serious because if I didn't have the change maybe I would not have gotten the items. She gave me too much, so I counted it and gave it back to her. She said I was holding her line up. I just wanted my exact change that's all. It might seem minute, but her attitude is what got me. My dear I pray God give you a heart of flesh.

Don't try to go there after working (6) 14 hr days and only having ten minutes to get 2 items the black lady with curly hair and glasses will hold her hand on the door and stand there like a bouncer at a club and not you in and act like you didn't just ask her about the time and closing early. Last time I go to this location. I arrived at 9:50pm it says you close at 10. You should be doing that at 10 not at 9:50. Terrible representation of the brand.

While some of the shelves are empty and aisles are a little bit messy, I found everything I was looking for here and this store has a good variety of a little bit of everything you would need. This place is awesome!
