More of a consignment shop

This is the only extremely unfriendly place that we have experienced in West Hartford, which is generally filled with lovely shops and friendly shopkeepers. I thought maybe it was just me, but a very friendly neighbor of mine told me that she had had the exact same experience here -- several of the people at this particular shop are unfortunately very mean and rude. Anyone can have an off day, but here you can get random scoldings every time you go. (For example, they are only open for 2 hours stretches, but you may be scolded upon entering if you come 20 minutes before closing.) But there are some reasonable clothes here, albeit rather high-priced for thrift, so if you are willing to endure the personnel, you might discover something nice to wear.

I picked up some cute holiday items. Also got a shirt for my boyfriend. The design is good and the displays are neat and tidy. I wonder if they ever have sales. if you are looking for a nice dress, you might find a good sale in here or your might not.

I got a dress, jean jacket, leather belt, and a cardigan for $25! All is very nice quality. The store is well organized, clean, and nicely decorated. The volunteers were so kind to my son and they gave him a book on top of it all. This was a warm and welcoming place to shop. Plys it gives back to an important organization that gives back to the greater Hartford community. I love it!

Love this place! It's more a boutique than a thrift store! You can find a lot of high priced tops for $6-$12 and they do 50% off sales very often! They are only open Thur-Sat and parking is a little difficult but it's worth the trip! Plus the ladies that volunteer there are super sweet too

I was a huge fan of the thrift shop that held this space before the new incarnation moved in. I have visited several times since this new one opened. There are always way more sales people in the place than customers. Maybe middle age women in WH have nothing else to do but work here. They follow you around and for the size of the place they are cloying and not especially friendly. Whatever. What is worse though are the prices they charge. Sweaters for over 100 dollars, a stained chinese robe for 225. But the ladies give you the hard sell that today prices are 25% off. No sorry. I don't care who the money benefits their pricing is obnoxious and somewhat shameful considering all the local customers that used to frequent the old thrift shop. You are not Nordstroms. I hope whoever runs this place sees this and gets a grip and a reality check with your "Ebay price gouging".

One of the newest thrift stores along Park Road. Second Chance Shop is a gem. Occupying a key spot at the corner of Park Road and Oakwood Ave, its bright, cheery atmosphere makes you feel you have stepped into a boutique store rather than a a place selling gently used items. However, this is no ordinary second hand store. On any given day, you can uncover designer shoes, handbags and clothes at unbelievable reductions. Moreover their regular prices are so reasonable that you can leave the store with several eye catching outfits for under $30.00. The staff is exceedingly friendly and helpful. They make you feel that you have a personal shopper looking out for you. Above all, look for their sales. The end of the season clearances are amazing. I left after shopping their bag sale with several outfits for an upcoming vacation having spent under $10.00!!! Definitely worth a visit ..... or two.

Love this shop! It's huge, with a large selection of high-quality clothes for men and women at amazing prices. Picked up a Banana Republic shirt during their recent sale for just $4.50 (among some other goodies!).

Awesome deals and great finds! This boutique style shop has a little bit of everything for men, women and children. All items are in excellent/like new condition at very reasonable prices. Worth a stop.
