Very cute store! But the lady working behind the counter was rude when it came to tattoos. She stopped me to ask about how much mine costs (assuming she was interested in them) and then proceeded to say how “they look unattractive, especially when wearing a wedding gown” and how she just doesn’t like them. Needless to say, me and my sister in law were turned off from buying anything because of it.

Many beautiful artisan-made items. I especially love the hand-painted Palestinian pottery they carry because it's really special and hard to find. They have large platter dishes that could be a show-stopping wedding gift, plus smaller items like a dish for olive oil.

Wonderful collection of really beautiful handicrafts. The person in the shop was very helpful and explained the free trade mission. The staff seems genuinely interested in helping customers understand the importance of supporting these underprivileged communities but also in telling the backstory of each amazing item. Great shop for gifts and you can feel good about your purchases rather than just buying junk made in China.

Cute place, great stuff. Two staff members were working. The younger one was great but the older one decided to stand over me as I was trying to shop and made the experience extremely uncomfortable. And I mean she was less than a foot away from me staring at every movement I made like she thought I was trying to steal… don’t treat customers like that it’s bad for business

Ten Thousand Villages is beautiful fair trade store that I love going into. This West Hartford one is in a great location, that easily gets good traffic. There are so many unique and creative items in this store. I think the Christmas ornaments are my favorite. There are so many items here that you look at and say "wow, how did they make this?!" The Christmas ornaments and other home decor made out of recycled newspapers is so impressive. Several of the items are not my style, but I still can't help but be impressed by the work and detail in each beautiful piece. They sell jewelry, glassware, and dishes, baby items, knit work, and so much more. The ladies working here are always willing to help and are very pleasant. Any time I've gone in, there is always a sale going on. While Ten Thousand Villages isn't an independent store, it surely feels and looks like one, their fair trade system certainly makes them stand out.

Such a cute, unique little shop in WeHa. My friend and I stopped in to have a look around and I found the cutest Christmas ornaments on clearance. I've also been thinking about the custom jewelry that's sold here that is made out of shrapnel and a copper bicycle shaped pizza cutter. Very unique gifts for people from all over the world, definitely worth a look see!

Amazing shop! This great shop had so many unique gifts and items. A great place for people looking for home decor or just the rare item. Everything bought at this place has proceeds that go to villages across the globe in need. Such a friendly and helpful staff that makes you feel welcome. Will be returning time and again!
