I started taking ballet class with Bette Ann through Zoom about a year ago and she instantly made me feel welcome and as if I was in the studio with her. She explains ballet technique well and in a way that is not boring or overdone. She makes class fun and exciting and there is such a lovely sense of community. Can't wait to take classes in person! I would highly recommend this studio if you are looking for a place to dance.

I started taking virtual ballet classes over Zoom with Bette-Ann during lockdown last fall, and so far it’s been an amazing experience! Although we’ve never met in person, Bette-Ann’s enthusiasm for dance and the personal attention she shows each student in her class made me feel immediately welcome in the (virtual) studio community. It was difficult to find a ballet studio that offered adult beginner classes, but within a few days of sending an inquiry email to the Studio of Dance, Bette-Ann followed up with a phone call discussing her teaching method, my experience, and my goal for dance classes. Since that first call, I have been impressed with the care she shows her students, her attention to detail, and most of all her knowledge of ballet technique and the Vaganova teaching method. The adult beginner class I enrolled in involved not only introductory barre and floor work, but also discussions of ballet technique that are as intellectually challenging as dance and PBT classes are physically challenging. Each class is fun, and I typically leave feeling like I’ve learned something new about how to keep improving.If you’re an adult with ZERO dance experience (like me!) but are excited to give a ballet a try - I cannot recommend this studio enough!

Bette-Ann is a teacher in a class of her own. She is extremely talented as an artist and mentor. Her technical foundation is strong, and she prioritizes healthy development of dancers. Her passion for her work and her students is incredible.

I have been dancing with Miss Bette for 3 years now and I can’t recommend her studio enough. I came to her studio at 16, as a beginner ballet student, after struggling to find any other studio in the area that would take a beginner in her late teens. I have seen Miss Bette work with students of all ages and levels and she always finds a way to uniquely meet each student’s needs. Her classes are focused on developing great technique while helping dancers build strength and flexibility. Miss Bette finds the perfect balance of support and tough-love to keep her classes fun, joyful, and challenging for all. I have made tremendous progress as a dancer over the past three years in terms of my technique, flexibility, strength, and my confidence in my dance abilities. I'm a mother of two. My back is always hurting, I'm always tired, but my yoga sessions with Karla are the highlight of my week. She is so kind, respectful, and knowledgeable in yoga and in dance. She was born to be a teacher and I have so much respect for her ability to direct her young students. I've been attending yoga classes with Karla for 3 months now and she has truly changed my life. I feel so much better than I did before and I have so much more energy. Imagine Studio is truly one of West Hartford's hidden gems!

I am taking three classes at this studio. A modern class, a foundation class and the adult class. All classes are amazing!! Betteann, the teacher really focuses on teaching a perfect technique no matter your age.

I feel the need to update this review...Over a year after I posted my original review (9/15) , I started receiving harassing emails ( 2 weeks ago) from a friend of the owner, accusing me of being a competitor of theirs, calling me troll. Totally unprofessional and once again, proves what type of business this is! If Imagine Studio cannot handle candid and frank reviews on a customers experience, they should not be in business at all!
