Prices are constantly not as advertised and some items are almost twice what they are at other grocers.

I made a purchase at the service desk and the attendant was literally scarfing down food in front of me & the guest that was before me. I completely understanding locations being short staffed, overworked, etc. They didn’t even pretend to care about how eating in front of patrons looked.

As far as Stop & Shops in the Hartford vicinity go, this one is subpar. The selection is more limited than at other grocers, and some items can be particularly hard to find. This was not always the case, but has increased over the last two years on both fronts. As far as the standard grocery items, of course they’ll have them, but if your shopping with dietary restrictions in mind (even common ones like plant-based diets), you may have a tougher time here than you would elsewhere—even another Stop and Shop. If you want to stay local, but do not want to shop at Whole Foods, I recommend Big Y over this Stop and Shop. Better yet, visit the S&S on Newington Road, which I whole heartedly recommend despite the distance.
Also beware if your car has low clearance—the north side entries to this store’s parking lot will scape your front bumper every time. The lot is also used heavily by a neighboring church on Sundays, limiting the spaces available to shoppers.

I know, a grocery store and a Stop & Shop, go figure. But let me tell you, this one is different. You walk in, and you're like, it's normal, but 5 minutes in, I began vibing down the ailes, people were smiling, some saying hello, but this blonde lady was "bopping" in a way that made me giggle. I was like, Whaaat am I seeing!? Haha. What I'm talking about is the music that set the mood! They were on a mostly nostalgic tip, Tevin Campbell, Rythm Nation era Janet Jackson, and more. The place was so not what I'm used to at a Stop & Shop. Now I'm at the checkout, still vibing, and the cashier was bopping and singing! Her happiness was catching, haha. I asked her if the music was for the holidays? She says no, they play this type of music all the time, "I've been working here 5 years and they play different era artists, I was surprised they continued it" she said with a full laugh! So now I'm paying for my purchases, and I'm hearing Cheryl Lynn. Oh my, she had one of the best voices! After some holiday wishes from/to customers and the cashier, I proceeded to open my bag of Pepperidge Farm Holiday Nog cookies with a big smile on my face!?

this stop and shop is by far the worst as far as customer service goes management looks thru you rather than at you when there is a complaint and therefore never give the sense they value customers given the significant competition in grocery options in West Hartford , I am happily never return this store ( the reviews are similarly and appropriately disparaging)

Shopped for 10 mins sat there for 30 mins while the systems are down to not be able to pay. Left empty handed form a stop and shop that is way over priced. Don’t care if it’s the closest place I’ll never go here again. You shouldn’t either.

The place is. Big and spacy. Loyt of fruits and vegetables. Flowers . Many people shopping. Very nice place and location. Cashiers are very pleasant. Nice big store prices were just as other stores, workers were all over the store you could have asked any one any question you want. Variety of stocks you can choose from.
