Yikes. It's notable I've come here more than a handful of times and haven't previously had any issues. The common denominator in all of those previous instances is that I didn't require any assistance. Today my family needed to speak to someone to buy doors and initiate door installation service. We were told two people were working the area who could help us. We waited patiently for over an hour - we were never even given the opportunity to ask how long the wait would be. In fact, the person working the area (who was helping 1 other person the whole time) only acknowledged our presence when he somewhat rudely told an older gentleman he would have to wait to have his question answered because we were next. Ultimately we decided to leave and will likely not be coming back.

Went in to fix and buys some doors. This store had everything I needed: Wood metal fence and two doors for self install. Didn't need to look around like people seem to say. There's employees everywhere waiting to help out. All you got to do is look. They have supplies well stocked too. No problem with this here store. I like it.

The most unfriendly staff. I said hello to one employee, (guy collecting carriages) and he just looked through me and ignored me. And yes, he definitely heard me. Then the cashier looked angry so I said hello and tried to joke with her as she rang up my stuff. She just rolled her eyes, said nothing and sat there. This isn't the first time the employees at this store were horrible. It's routine and apparently accepted by management. There are other choices for improvement stores so I'll be giving them my money from now on.

The absolute worse HD by far!!! They NEVER are staffed and no one is ever available to answer questions. Placed a online order to store and they sat on it for hours! No one even attempted to pull the items by end of day. The order just sat there. I ordered it there because I was gonna be in the area and what a waste of time. I canceled my order and placed it at the blue box store and they had my order ready in a couple hours. This store is so hopeless. I avoid it like the plague and dread going even when I almost don't have a choice. This store has been like this for years and no one seems to be interested in changing the culture there.

OK customer service is non existent. Being polite is not the same as being helpful. I was self checking and found that there was a missing UPC code. So I asked one of the two "workers" who were at the self checkout help area if he could help me. He told me I needed to go get another one with the UPC on it. I asked if he meant I was to do that, and he said yes and pointed. Then he went back to chatting with his co worker. BTW I was the only one on line mid morning on a Thursday. I will say he was VERY polite and wished me a good day after I sarcastically apologized for interrupting his chat. But again, that didn't actually help me, at all.

I had a sudden influx of wasps at my house and needed to find an indoor-safe wasp spray. I haven't purchased such a product in the past and I had wandered around the store for a bit, through the garden center and the aisles nearby. The frustrated, overwhelmed, and bewildered expression on my face probably conveyed my stress at trying to find the right product in the early morning on a Saturday, and a fantastic gentleman pointed me in the right direction, and actually knew about the products on the shelf. Huge thumbs up for making an otherwise frustrating experience a very positive one.

Stay far away. This Home Depot literally made me never shop at any Home Depot stores or online ever again. I placed an order for 40 bags of mulch and 15 bags of top soil. It was due to be delivered on a Tuesday. Around 1pm on that Tuesday, I received 40+ text messages saying my order is ready for pickup. Then I received 3 emails saying my order was delivered, followed by an email saying my order couldn't be delivered. Confused, I called the main customer service line for Home Depot. They called the store and the manager told them everything was fine, there was a glitch in their system. It would still be delivered that day. Well, Wednesday came and no mulch. I called them and they said the delivery company they use never picked them up. The manager took pictures of my order at the back of their store. SEVEN phone calls later which amounted to about 2 HOURS of my time passed. I canceled the order but because the delivery people marked it as delivered when it WASN'T, the manager at the store had to escalate it to some help department. It is now Thursday evening. I called and spoke to a woman at the Home Depot main customer service line. She told me it has been refunded (would have been helpful to know that but no email, call, nothing) for the total for the mulch and soil. She told me that the delivery $79 fee could NOT BE REFUNDED. I asked why, when obviously I never even received my order and this was THEIR FAULT. She responded that's just the way it is and to call the store. Furious, I asked to speak with a manager. After waiting for a manager for 15+ minutes, obviously I hung up. I called the store and spoke with a wonderful manager named Yvette. She is the only kind and compassionate person that has half a clue what is going on that I've spoken to in these 7 calls (did I mention the previous manager at the store actually hung up on me?). She tried to refund me and couldn't. She told me that the main Home Depot customer service needs to refund it, because it's not their fault. I told her they told me to call the store and she was obviously annoyed with that answer. Now she is calling headquarters trying to get my refund. I may get a call back but I'm not expecting it at this point. I'm sure tomorrow will be phone call numbers 8 and 9 and another hour of my time wasted for a $79 delivery fee for an order that NEVER LEFT THE STORE. Seriously, something is majorly wrong with this store. This entire ordeal happened probably because some delivery guy decided it wasn't worth his time and effort to load 40 bags of mulch and 15 bags of soil onto a truck, so he just marked it as delivered. To whoever did that, shame on you.

It doesn't matter what kind of experience, people Is treated poorly these days it's the norm. And nothing is been done to make it better, when reported. What's the point of a survey?

Rafael from customer service and Mike from Garden Department were the most helpful employees I've seen. They ran into some difficulties with an online order I was going to pick up, but they stayed on track and reassured me that they would get the item I ordered. They apologized for the inconvenience, but I told them isallgooood. Top of the line workers I would say. Rafael was straight up STRESSING more than I was which shows that he cares about the customers of Home Depot.

Love Mike from the kitchen cabinet department. He helped me build some storage space that was beautiful and perfect for my needs. He answered questions, was fun to talk with, and gave me multiple plans as my ideas grew. Truly appreciate how beautiful and useful my new cabinet space is.

I bought a brand new screw gun and when I brought it home I realized someone had swapped out the battery. Also I have bought other products there and had similar issues of people swapping out broken items for the new ones. Boxes of screws with screws missing and used screws put back in. If you have to use this Home Depot make sure you check the product because apparently they don't.

I was looking to by some potting soil dirt. Went in and found a huge pallet in garden. Went to ring it up at the self checkout counter. Would not ring. The cashier couldn't get it. She called Garden 3 Times with no answer. She really tried to get help. Finally 3 people come and take the bag and come back and some guy is just like oh we can't sell this and walks away and does not try to further assist me at all. Very very rude in my honest opinion. How do you try and not help me further. I love Home Depot and will continue to shop but this experience was not a good one at all.

They did not follow good Covid-19 protocol. Our check out person did not bother to wear a mask or to sustain social distancing and at least a third of the workers were not wearing their masks properly (noses exposed or pulled down entirely). No one was enforcing the social distancing in the aisle. Direction arrows were ignore. Felt extremely unsafe and will not go back to this West Hartford, Hartford Home Depot.

On 3/16/2020 I picked up approximately 2800$ worth of material. After waiting in line with my son I advise to go to call my contractor who was in the store picking up a few more items to see if he has a pro account. He confirmed he did. We were instructed to go to the pro Desk to complete by transaction. While waiting for the associate to reenter my purchase order, Another woman (Denise, who is a supervisor) yelled, "There are too many people here. Can you move?" Many things wrong with this interaction. 1. I am a customer. I am the one purchasing these items. I was standing in line with my son with out issue. Now that I arrive at the PRO DESK I can not stand with him? I moved away from the desk and end up being called back to the por desk to pay. I should have never been asked to move away from my purchase. 2. Tone. I am not a child. I should not be asked to move but if you wanted to ask, I should have been addressed. I was spoken to as if I was irrelevant yet I am spending thousands of dollars. There is a way to speak with people. 3. Facial expression: Her face was unpleasant and match her disrespectful tone. I was shocked when I asked to speak with the manager and I was told DENISE at the PRO DESK was a supervisor. She should be placed in the back to stack boxes. This is not my first incident at Home Depot (especially West Hartford branch) which left me disgusted. I did not report the other incidents/write a review but I decided this will not go unheard. When the assistant Manager, Justin Vitols, finally arrives; I explained to him what happened. I asked why would I have to move away from my purchase? He states he's not sure why and he needs to find out the details. Wrong answer! There is nothing to find out. I am a customer, buying items, standing at the pro desk in the same manner, I was standing in the line; What is there to find out? Would I be asked to move out of a regular line? Why not apologize or pull her aside and find out? He then proceeds to ask me if I own properties. Why is that important? Is it because I am of African descent? I informed Mr.Vitols, I do own properties which is why I spend money at home depot all the time. I then asked Mr.Vitols how do I make sure my concerns are heard widely? I expressed to him this is not the first incident. I was told by telling him its already known and he will look in to the issue. Not once did he refer me to the survey that I later found listed on the bottom of my receipt as a way to voice my concerns beyond him nor did he refer me to the Manager. I needed additional items the next day totaling over 1000$ and went to Lowes to purchase them. From now on that is what I will do. Home depot continues to accept this behavior but I do not have to subjected to it. THEY DO NOT DESERVE OUR BUSINESS.
