Our German Shepherd had a wound that need sutures on Saturday night and we ended up at CT Veterinary Center. Dr Nicholas Vargoshe and staff were wonderful. Dr Vargoshe explained his treatment recommendations and answered our questions thoroughly before sedating Thor and taking care of his wound. The staff was courteous and had empathy for our situation. The facility was clean. Fees were what would be expected for an after hours emergency / urgent care facility.I wouldn’t hesitate to use them again if needed.

Extremely friendly staff and very reasonable prices. And Dr. Shultz is very conscientious, accommodating and available. One of the few remaining medical or veterinary practices who value and go out of their way to accommodate its patients rather than the other way around.

I made the mistake of going to Connecticut Veterinary Center more than once. The second time my dog was in serious condition but was left in a cage for two hours while the vet saw other patients. I was also left in the exam room, and not checked on or updated at any point during those grueling hours. In fact, I could hear the vet talking to others in exam rooms on the other side of mine. In the meantime, my dog was practically screaming for his life from down the hall. When I was able to see him, he was left on his side, which was incredibly uncomfortable for him. It put increased pressure on his frail heart and lungs. He died four hours later as I clutched his body and cried my eyes out. Although my dog was in his final days/weeks, his passing was sped up by inadequate care. Furthermore, the vet's bedside manner was atrocious (why do vets talk to pet owners like they're annoying or idiotic? I don't get it.) Avoid Connecticut Veterinary Center unless you have to absolutely use their emergency services. (Note: I'm writing this two weeks after my dog's passing away.)

My 9 year old Scottish Terrier often boards there. She comes back to me composed, content and rested. Care as good as it gets

Our dog was seen in this facility for seven years. We won’t disclose the name of the doctors we saw as we want to share a holistic view into our experience. For the first 5 years all the staff was kind and courteous. As first time dog parents they helped us through the process. Things changed two years ago when our dog became ill. There was a treatment plan provided but our dog did not respond well to it. He had many side effects and when we brought this back there was no plan b and overall lack of options for two years. As dog parents we were forced to do our own research and create home recipes to support his well-being. We brought this back to the doctor and he said ok good as long as he tolerates. Interestingly enough we came up with plan b on our own not by advise from the Vet. Fast forward, our dog began to have fluid retention. We brought this to the doctor, no test just assessed by hand and told us no fluid retention especially since there was weight gain. We brought him in once again and it was then when the Vet shared oh it does look like retention. Sadly our dog passed shortly thereafter. We used a different Vet (Veterinary specialist of CT) when it was time for him to cross the rainbow bridge and quickly realized the stark difference between a clinic that cared for their pets and one that thought of our dear pets as a number. When he passed this new clinic sent a post card with condolences and deep sympathy. We called the original clinic to inform of our dogs passing. It’s been weeks and we are yet to hear from them. Think of your pets as your children and I ask you this. Would you bring your children to a place like this?

Tanesha, Jared and Dr. Tallboy were exceptional with my cat. I brought her in for an over grooming concern and they were able to ease my concerns and give me plenty of advice. Check in was straightforward and smooth.Thank you for your help, you are all appreciated.I had been pushed off the phone by many other vets in surrounding towns but they took me in right away. Thank you again!

IF YOU LOVE YOUR PET DO NOT BRING THEM HERE!!Our 7 year old beagle just passed away for renal failure/Kidney damage almost a week after this Vet misdiagnosed him with back pain. We brought him in for not eating, acting strange and fever and this placed gave us medicine for BACK PAIN!! Very unprofessional staff, we told them that the medicine was not working or our dog now turned YELLOW! their response was sorry we are low on doctors, and you will need to bring your dog somewhere else. Brough our pup to a different vet which they told us that there was nothing they could do since my pups not blood work spiked high and possible had damaged kidneys or liver damage . He's now deceased and my honest opinion is that this place did not take the early precautions to have potential saved his life. All we did was followed this vet's instructions to give him a medicine that killed him very rapidly and no answer from them whatsoever. Now the whole family is heartbroken with our best friend now GONE!!

Always a good experience at CVC! Dr. Schultz is awesome! He's kind and compassionate as is the staff. Everyone is knowledgeable and kind. I've been to a few other Vets and they were good but I'm much happier at CONNECTICUT VETERINARY CENTER.

The staff and doctors are always friendly and helpful. The doctors are very knowledgeable. It’s difficult to find a Veterinary center to entrust your pet with. I’m happy to say I found mine.
