I really wanted to like this place as a first time customer since I live very close. I am quite disappointed.
I didn't even have too high expectations, I just went for a regular blowout. Stylist asked what I wanted and I explained just regular straight (I have straight hair) and that some volume and product on top to achieve volume would be great. After she stared she said : you wanted curls right? I explained that my hair doesn't really hold a curl, but she can try if she wants I don't care. I explained that the only thing I care about is volume on top.
She then proceeded to explain why my hair doesn't hold a curl (who cares? I didn't ask for a curl?)
She used a flat iron on my hair, and that was never discussed and isn't a part of a regular blowout, especially when trying to achieve volume on top. It was also quite unprofessionally used, as I kept hearing my hair snap repeatedly as she used it on me. I almost wanted to get out of the chair, and I probably should have. Towards the end she was scraping by scalp on top with the brush flattening my hair further.

I was a little skeptical about going at first because I have 4c relaxed hair, but I left there feeling amazing. Fyi: if you want more than just a blowout book with added time. Also, get there early I had to circle around for ten minutes looking for parking because I don't feel comfortable parking in garagesService: Blowouts

Not sure why my last review was deleted, customers deserve to know everyone’s experience here. I was told on Friday 09/31 to call back on Monday to speak with a manager with an issue I was looking to resolve. I’ve called 11 times, at different times of the day, no answer. Just be aware it’s very hard to get ahold of this establishment.

I love Blo Blow Dry Bar. Quality service and fast. Also as a Black woman to find a place to get a blow dry and curl that lasts in a hour is amazing! I also like that they pair you with stylists that know how to do your hair. So make sure in the note section you type in your hair texture.

I have long hair and always pay for the hour and fifteen minutes blow out. 9/10 times they finish it within the hour. So when I was 10 minutes late they said they couldn’t do my usual style which is blow dry and put in curls with an iron because I was late and she was double booked at the end of the appointment. I paid for my full hour and 15 minutes so why is it my fault they are double booked? I got done at 4:55, 20 minutes left on the appointment I paid for which would have been enough time to put in the curls. Clients should receive the full allotted time they schedule and pay for. My hair already looks bad today, with the curls my hair looks good for 3-4 days. I’m a pretty regular customer, just this month I was there weekly. Very disappointed and will be looking for other options to get my blow outs done in the future.Service: Blowouts

I am honestly just giving this two stars because my stylist was very kind but also inexperienced. There needs to be more training here on how to properly wash hair and do a blowout. I chose this location for convenience as it's right in blueback square. The receptionist was kind and checked me in even though I was 15 minutes early. The stylist I had took me to the wash area and seemed to concentrate more on the top of my head than underneath. The conditioner was also placed on top rather than past the scalp area. I gave him the benefit of the doubt as I've often my hair blown out tons of times and everyone has a different way of doing it. He was pleasant and took his time. I loved how my hair turned out but noticed after I walked out my hair seemed a bit damp (not wet but just damp). As I got home it dried and still maintained the Hollywood curls. This is where it gets bad - I got home and was running my fingers through my hair and noticed something sticky and my hair matted down near the roots. There was dried up shampoo/conditioner that wasn't washed out. As I had an event the next day and no time, I washed out that section and blow dried it myself. I was more than disappointed. I don't think I'll be back.

I purchased a membership for 2 blowouts a month here, but I own a marketing business and I’m filming myself on social media so I was still coming weekly. After a couple months of coming weekly I began to expect the staff to start to recognize me or at least treat me with some familiarity, for paging $175 a month ($85 for membership plus the additional 2 blowouts). The results are inconsistent, you have to ask for the stylist you know does a good job which is frustrating- and it’s not just preference, it’s stylists that do the basics like wet your entire head when washing, get all the shampoo out, ask before putting product in your hair. When I cancelled my membership, no one asked why. The girl I spoke to said “ok let me forward this to my manager.” I never heard from a manager to ask why I’m cancelling. I’m in sales and hopefully they read this and take it as a tip to ask why someone is cancelling their membership and try to save them. What made me cancel is my last blowout, the stylist didn’t even get all of my hair wet underneath and put shampoo on dry hair. My hair was greasy by later that day. Giving it some stars because some of the stylists were good but there lacks a personal touch and consistency.Service: Blowouts

Some employees are nice and friendly, but the front desk can be rude especially over the phone. Also, if hair care is important to you, then this isn’t the place for you. The products they use on hair are the same for everyone and/or also depend on which products they want to advertise, rather than looking at which conditioner or shampoo would be most beneficial for said individual and their hair type. I also called ahead of time to ask if they were educated on how to care for and straighten curly hair, and was told they were; However, they damaged my hair so clearly they aren't concerned about hair care nor are they educated on different hair types. The young girl that did my daughter’s hair did a great job. Side note - older white hairstylist was super rude to our hair stylist.
