We live in Groton, but are rarely in Waterford for anything, and avoid this Ulta and the mall as a general rule of thumb due to horrible experiences in the past.
Today we went out of necessity, and my husband had just left me in the store to shop for his family and I was annoyed, not really looking at anything.
I was asked 15 different times, by 4 different people in about 20 minutes if I was finding everything okay, I thought at first how helpful.
Then I watched them target anyone in the store they thought was stealing with the same energy.
I finally asked about “after sun” products and was handed one bottle of Sun Bum aloe and told that was all they had in terms of skin care after the sun. I asked about even a lotion that would be good, and was told “you could try an off brand at a store like Walmart or something”
I admit at this point, I was pretty rude and sarcastic when thanking her for all her help, and went to check out because I was fed up at that point .
I heard her talking about me to the salon manager, very loudly saying “yea that’s the one” and the salon manager checked me out.
I told her what had happened, and I don’t know that she could have cared less if she tried. Rambled on about my receipt and Ulta points.
I bumped into a little sign with my purse as I stormed out, and every employee in the store started hysterically laughing, whispering and saying not so great things. When I walked back in to check name tags, they all looked like I was literally insane and had made the entire interaction up. As if it didn’t just literally happen with all of them telling me they don’t make after sun products in any brand and to try a store like Walmart. I wasn’t asking if it was made. I was asking where it was. Ulta doesn’t have a good skin moisture lotion?
I have better things to do with my day than call corporate today, but it will be my first call tomorrow.
Racist, discriminatory, immature and just plain unhelpful.
I was prepared and needed to spend quite a bit of money on product today, I’ll go elsewhere. I left with two lotions and a nail polish.
My best friend owns a top rated hair salon, my aunt is a dermatologist, a friend of mine does professional makeup for some pretty important people. I make extremely good money and have no kids, I treat myself a lot with beauty products. My skin and hair are awful because I’m extremely ill.
It’s 2024. Let’s stop judging books by their covers in beauty stores ladies.
Update: the one large product I bought magically never made it in my bag. I was told the day of by the manager it was put in my bag, and to check my car. The next day I called when we couldn’t find it, she screamed, called me a liar, said I never bought it. I wasn’t sure if I had. So when I called the day before, and she said to check my car, I thought that meant I had bought it. Then she hung up and said “you want to talk to police, lawyers, I’m done”
Yes. Yes I do. I have. The store is being run like a zoo.

Zero Stars. Manager of store is the rudest individual. Was over charged and refused to refund me. She spends to much time trying to catch little kids stealing $4 makeup. Constantly post videos of kids on Waterford Police page then has them arrested to ruin their lives rather than comincate with parents to actually help them learn from their mistakes. She's married to the chief of Waterford police. If you wonder why the police funding is so high and no crimes are solved it's because they are to busy colluding to jack up call volume to appear that they are justified for manpower. Go ahead and luck at there Facebook page. Way to waste the time of the judicial system that is already overwhelmed! How about you stop wasting tax payer money! Look at the court docket for all the cases for petty crime! The chief of police and Ulta should be investigated. Your products are overpriced Chinese garbage! Also the manager talks to her employees like they are garbage. They can't keep consistent staff because she's such a terrible manager.

I had an unfortunate experience after going into this Ulta to re-up on my favorite skincare essentials. I had the displeasure of speaking with one of the managers, Kath, who made my experience so awful I thought about calling my psychiatrist to up my medication. I usually shop at the store in Lisbon. However, I decided to shop here today because I was in the area. The two stores have different layouts, and I usually hate to ask for help from the girls working, but unfortunately, I needed help. Finding my products, I found one of the managers who just seem to be doing( And if we’re going to be honest, actually, she was talking quite rudely to one of her associates) And I asked her where I could locate my products. Her answer was an impolite shrug, and a” I don’t know” And then she walked away. I asked the associate that was standing next to her, also dumbfounded by her MANAGERS reaction, and the employee helped me accordingly. unfortunately, I also have the miserable experience of being checked out by her in the register line, she continued to be rude, unpolite, and just flat out unprofessional. I seriously hope that she finds the help that she so dearly needs. it’s crazy that this preteen is manager, i’ve seen the TikTok about 12-year-olds in Sephora and Ulta’s, but I didn’t know they were also were also working there.

I went to get my eyebrows done and Rachel was my stylist. She did a great job not only that but her recommendations were great and she was fun to chat with, didn't make it awkward like some places you go to do. The price is steep in my opinion $27 but worth it for the service I received from Rachel. I will be back to see her for my brows again.

I was in line at Ulta this week. I witnessed the store manager being very rude and disrespectful to a customer. It bothered me very much that I felt this woman was discriminating again him. He was of ethnicity and she seemed to be denying him because of it. He was there with his family and his little son had to witness it. It's very disturbing this is happening still and needs to be address. I will no longer be using this location and encourage this behavior to be reprimanded. The managers name was Andrea.
