I've been using Mattatuck Animal Hospital for over 30 years and I don't have a single complaint. The owner is extremely knowledgeable and so is Doctor Turgeon. Additionally, there fees are very reasonable.

Dr Turgeon is the best.! Kind knowledgeable and takes the whole picture in to consideration. Their fees are reasonable. Wish he could be cloned he works so hard

Dr. Surgeon is amazing, absolutely the best and so caring, my cat was dying and spent his lunch breaks for 3 days with consolation. Great great man and great knowledge in Veterinary medicine. Absolutely the best, to notch. Dr. Meier a real good guy.....

I always take my dog here. Reasonably priced. Just be aware they recently changed their hours to just days no evenings I learned this the hard way lol

Been going here for over 20 years, the place has sustainably gone downhill recently. The hours are garbage, no appointments. They'll tell you the one hour windows they are open then when you arrive say they are full for the day. Was told to come at 2 pm got there and told they are full for the day and that I needed to arrive around 12:45 pm to be able to make the 2pm window. They expect you to sit in your car and wait for over an hour with your dog?? Place is straight trash.

I went there 3 times they have morning visits, afternoon and evening. I got there 20 minutes before 3 and sent me home. They did not take me because they were not taking anymore people. and there was like 5 people before me. Went again at 2:00 because supposedly they open at 3 and they did not want to take me because supposedly people were in line since 12 p.m. I just sent my granddaughter and they turned her away. I will not recommend this hospital again. THEY SHOULD POST IT ON THE DOOR. SO IF THEY OPEN AT 3 WHY THEY TAKE PEOPLE SINCE 12? I DON'T UNDERSTAND. MY POOR DOG HAS BEEN HAVING AN EAR ACHE, AND DISCHARGE FROM AN EYE. THE STAFF WERE VERY RUDE AND NOT ASKED ME ONCE WHY I WAS THERE.

Everyone there is very knowledgeable and friendly. The hours aren’t so great but we are happy with everything else.

I've been coming here for YEARS with all my fur babies. Always a spot for my pet, the Vets are awesome and experienced, and they are hands down the most reasonably priced out of ANYWHERE around.

I never had a problem with pets. Every time I go I get excellent card for my fur babies. New young Vet is very personable and he takes his time answering any questions.

Do not trust these people with your animals!!!! My poor 14 year old dog got teeth extracted here and had a lot of issues with his breathing and wasn’t eating or drinking as much. I brought him back SEVERAL times and the doctor looked at him for 2 mins and said he was fine. Ended up taking him to another vet for a second opinion and they told me that he had 2 huge HOLES the size of my thumb nail in his gums from the teeth that were extracted and were not properly closed by the vet. His new vet also told me that his food and water were going through these holes in his gums into his nose, making him choke and have trouble breathing. The doctor also just stands there staring at you while telling him your concerns and dismisses them immediately. My poor dog could have been spared from all of this pain if the doctor actually knew what he was doing. Wish I could have given them 0 stars.

Fam has been going here over 25 years. Affordable and I love my vet Dr. Turgeon he shows true care for my service dog and fully explains everything so I can fully understand.

i would not recommend this place. i called this morning (4-18-23) at about 10am and gave them a background of my dogs history and they gave me the hours of operation. i work during the day so i could not make the early times but they gave me a 6:30-730 time to come by and said just come early cause it's first come first serve (which is fine) and to show up early to do paperwork and i said that's great i'll be there at 6pm and they said looking forward to seeing you. here i am at 6pm and this is what's posted on the door. why tell me looking forward to seeing you and give me a time if your not going to be open? terrible first and last experience i'll have with this place.

I know people may not agree but they are awesome and take anyone and have weekend hours My dog needs meds for years and they were better then online
