The first mechanic out of 3 I took my car to who actually took the time to figure out the issue and fix it! He fit me in the next day even though he was super busy, and was affordable on top of that. Wish I had known about him years ago!! Highly recommend!!!

It’s always great when you can find a capable mechanic that you can completely trust. While my recent repair bill wasn’t small, I was glad to know the car had been looked over, top to bottom, end to end, and I was kept informed along the way so there was no ‘sticker shock.’ I’ve brought my 2013 VW SportWagen to Pete Downs for a few years now. His location in rural Warren makes scheduling service a bit tricky, but it’s worth any logistical shuffle you may have to do. In fact, for my most recent service, I dropped my car off at 7am and cycled 28 miles home. The following day, I did the ride in reverse to pick up my car.

I’ve always taken my vintage Chevy pickup to Pete. He put in a new clutch for me earlier in the the year, but when I picked up the truck, Pete said he wasn’t really happy with the clutch and told me that when I picked up shops would never have said anything. As it turned out , the clutch wasn’t quite right — and last week Pete replaced it — for free.
