I've been coming here since 1981. In other words I've been with Rod since he first started! My children were still in diapers. This place is professional, courteous, clean and it's obvious that they love animals. My cat gets a Lion cut which is perfect each and every time. My long haired German Shepherds always needed extra attention on their fur. When boarding is required there is no hesitation. My dogs arrive calm and are picked up happy. Years later , not only do I still remain a loyal client, but my three grown sons are also delighted and loyal to Rid and Village Pet Spa.

I highly recommend this business for your loved furbabies. They do such a beautiful job!! They also work with your schedule and don’t take weeks for an appointment. Love these groomers.

They are great. I called and there was no voicemail set up. Someone called me back within 2 minutes. I was able to do a walk in to get my dog's nails cut. He was in and out of there in 5 minutes. He is a big dog and does not like having the nails cut. Their grooming staff leave around 3:30pm for the day. For full grooming, you need an appointment. They said they groom about 50 dogs a day.

I've been tackling my dog to Village Pet spa for 5 yrs now. Gary and the staff are very nice. They do an excellent job with grooming. I highly recommend it

I have been taking my dogs here for years. Love them and how they love and take such good care of my fur babies. Their love for animals is shines through. They are amazing, professional, friendly and I couldn't be happier with their work.

I've been using Village Pet Spa for 11 years now. I love all the staff. They are most caring and the facilities are very clean! My dog gets the best grooming there and the BEST care while in Daycare and Boarding. I recommend Village Pet Spa anytime someone asks where to bring their pets. Hands down the love I feel when I come in the door is amazing and that tells me my dog is being loved for as well.

If you’re looking for a place to get your cat groomed look no further. They did an amazing job on my senior kitty, who was covered with mats. I would recommend to family and friends. It’s the only place I’m going to go to get my cat groomed. Thank you!

I have never had a problem getting an appointment because when my dogs done I make next appointment right then and there . They do a great job !

If your pet means the world to you then I don't recommend. The absolute, worst experience I've ever had. First time my (7pounds 5month old) puppy went to get a nail clip and I made them aware so they can slowly introduce her. They quickly held my dog down, seeing that she was nervous, barking, and wiggling the entire time. There was no introduction and the fear on my pup left me speechless. She is a completely harmless, people loving pup that doesn't mind her paws touched. It all felt quick, transactional just to get paid and be done with. Luckily there was no bleeding but her nails are crooked and angled terribly. NEVER walking through those doors again.

My review is more of a story lol... Years ago I inherited a very large cat (20 pounder) whose only issue was that he had a hard time cleaning his back as he aged. I think it was a Google search that led me to Village pet Spa. They helped him out by cutting down his matted fur and making it easier for him to clean himself. I brought him back a few times a year until he passed away about 11 years ago. We then adopted 2 more cats and it was suggested to me by a friend that I get them shaved to cut down on shedding. I wasn't sure about shaving short haired cats but I called and asked. I was told they would give them baths, clip their nails, and give them "lion cuts". It was super convenient because I could drop them off in the morning and then pick them up after work. I thought my cats would be angry when I picked them up, but they seemed to actually strut around the house when they came home, as if to show off their new cuts. Fast forward a few years, we moved to Canton, about 45 mins away from Wallingford. Although I loved the friendliness and service provided by Village Pet Spa, I thought it would be logical to take them somewhere closer to our new home. I was wrong. I'm not sure why- maybe it was too chaotic at the new place - but they seemed to be stressed out when they got home. They hid under furniture instead of strutting like they usually do. And their cuts seemed choppy. So we are back at Village Pet Spa. After experiencing one visit to the local groomer, I noticed some differences. The overall atmosphere at Village Pet Spa was much calmer. The dogs being groomed looked happy and well behaved. The cages were large, I didn't hear much barking at all, and everyone I came in contact with was happy, relaxed, and talked to the animals. When I mentioned this to one of the owners, he said the more difficult dogs are kept in another room so they don't stress out the others. Also so they aren't more stressed themselves by seeing so many other dogs. It takes a little more planning now since they aren't close, but my cats deserve to be treated kindly and not stressed out all day.

We’ve been bringing our dog to Village Pet Spa for 7 years. I wouldn’t trust anyone else with her. They’re always kind and accommodating and beyond loving to our girl. She gets anxiety going places and they seamlessly make her comfortable to stay and get groomed. Best dog spa EVER HANDS DOWN!
