Marshall has the same level of respect as a hurricane tearing through a field of delicate flowers, leaving nothing but chaos and disregard in its wake. Dude needs to take a Xan or something, made us feel stupid for believing that the postal service’s website was an accurate source of information. Marshall's idea of etiquette is like a GPS that only offers directions to the rudest destinations – always taking the impolite detour.

Waiting in a long line today, it was finally my turn, when called up I placed my letter on the scale infront of the postal worker. Looking at me with confusion on their face I was asked "what can I help you with", I told them I was just mailing a letter and they sharply asked "what do you want" now I'm confused and explained it would be nice if you brought my mail to the address written on the envelope. Annoyed she explained said "we don't do that, you have to buy stamps". They made me buy a book of stamps and then proceeded to explain how the credit card machine worked like I've never seen one before, this coming from a postal worker that didn't know why I might be standing in front of them with a letter. The USPS could save a lot of money if they just brought back the stamp vending machines if this is how their front staff treats people.

Arrived at 8:20am on a Saturday. 8am is their opening time. Yet the counter is closed. Plenty of employees working on mail sorting, so I looked through the Mail Drop slot to ask when it would open. There were postal workers literally feet from me and they would not acknowledge my presence, let alone answer me. Other angry customers in line before me, several just leaving as I type this. Amazing to not be acknowledged as a human being by the USPS employees. It is now 830 as I type this and I am going to leave. Just inexcusable “customer service.”

It's a pretty good post office if you're just there to check your PO box, but if you need anything from someone behind the counter, brace yourself. Everyone behind the counter is so rude! I've either been obviously ignored, made to feel like an ignorant nuisance, or overtly condescended to. I've never had a decent or even okay experience at the counter.

Nestled in the heart of downtown Wallingford, our little post office, in all its unassuming splendor, stands as a testament to simplicity and represents the allure of a bygone era. When you walk through its doors, you're transported back in time, where lines meandered gently and decor exuded a sense of vintage nostalgia. The slow-paced atmosphere provides a gentle whisper from the past, a reminder that - amidst the chaos of the modern world - there still exists a few places where time can take its leisurely course. The lines are not an inconvenience, but rather a sweet reminder of the unhurried pace of small-town life. In a world which forces us to sprint from one task to another, the long waits can serve as a gentle pause, encouraging reflection and appreciation for the grace in patience. The decor has an endearing charm which transports us back to a time when things were less complicated. It's as if the walls themselves hold the wisdom of ages, a silent witness to the ebb and flow of life, inviting us to step into a space where simplicity is celebrated.Amidst the quaint charm and sometimes excruciating pace, it's crucial to remember the USPS is not a business striving for growing profits and perfection. It is a noble institution, a public service which embraces its imperfections and wears them as badges of honor. It stands as one of the few remaining vestiges of a time when life was simpler, where the art of waiting was cherished, and human connection was paramount. In a world that celebrates instant gratification and seamless transactions, the USPS in Wallingford rebels against these modern values, instead providing a sanctuary of serenity, partnered with a steady but manageable hustle and bustle of moving mail. It beckons us to slow down, savor the moments of anticipation, and recognize the profound beauty in embracing the passage of time. It is a place where patience is a virtue, and the simplest of tasks become an opportunity to connect with our surroundings and one another.Five stars, not for its efficiency, but for its unwavering commitment to preserving the essence of a simpler era, dedicated and kind staff, and friendly atmosphere.

Great staff. Busy but the staff does what they can to process everyone thru as quickly as possible.

Worst post office I've ever been to. Locked the doors at 4:55 when they close at 5. Your tax dollars at work!! That's time theft!

I've never had any good experience in this office. The employees are extremely rude and they treat people in the worse way possible.I don't remember his name, but I'll put it this way! The African American guy is the rudest employee I've ever seen behind a counter!!The same way the tall young guy with curly hair! They have no idea what customer service means at all!!I'm not sure if their supervisor cares or not! Because he witnessed their behavior and did nothing.Who do we trust our mail to!!!? Terrible!! Just Terrible.Don't go there!!

Closes and locks its doors before posted closing time of 5pm! Not at all appropriate for a government location.

Every person I've come across here is friendly and professional. The man that is usually at the front desk is always very patient with me, as I don't need to come in too often and don't usually know what I need to do for different packages. He is also friendly to my son and always talks to him and smiles at him when they aren't busy even though he is shy and hides his face. When they're busy the staff work faster and don't chat as much, but that's nice because the line moves faster that way. If rather have a quick line than a nice chat.

Just your average post office that sits on a corner of the main square in Wallingford. There may be another post office that serves this town, but my Yelp friend Jim C. would probably know those whereabouts. This is a typical government building with its stately facade and huge brick wall with the flag flowing in the wind. Although this post office lacked charm, it's rather large and it provides many services to its customers. I checked out this p.o. on a recent trip to CT while visiting my hubby's family. It's in a convenient location and has a parking lot in the back but there was also a lot of foot traffic. Their hours are M-F 8-5 and Saturday 8-12. The supplies were stocked and there was a greeting card kiosk with a large selection of cards. Passport service is available as well. The clerks here are efficient enough but could be more personable, so the lines down go fairly quick. Why do most postal workers seem to be discontented with their job? They have nothing to write home about.

Nothing but problems in the past 4 months with receiving our mail. Bills getting lost, legal documents not getting here. Mail never delivered on time and sometimes hours later into the night. A true shame considering the worst of the pandemic is supposed to be behind us! They want their federal pay and benefits then it’s time they show up with their A game and start working like they’re collecting unemployment.

This post office rules. I'd give it 10 stars if I could.

Everyone is always so nice to me and helps me with taping and packaging my items. They always ask about my day and help me find the option that would be cheaper to send things off. They are fast and to the point when needed. I’m sad to see so many low reviews, but personally, I have always left with a positive experience!
