My car was bucking and I brought it in because it might have been the transmission. They charged me double the diagnosis fee to quote over $4500 in other repairs they could diagnosed but did not give me a reason the car was bucking which is why I brought it in. They said it would be so expensive that I should "just buy a new car" like I had that kind of money lying around. And did not give me a concrete figure on a repair, no error code, nothing. Brought it to a transmission shop who recommended to bring it to a regular garage because it turned out to be a an engine coil, costing me $350. Just another dealership ready to take your money with zero interest in actually helping you. Save your money and don't go!!

I love supporting locally owned businesses, but this one just does not cut it. I took my mother here for a routine oil change. She made an appointment yet we still waited almost two hours for the change to be complete. I tried not to get annoyed, but seriously? It's an oil change. I also expected the usual upsell because large autobody places do that, especially dealerships. But they really overdid it in that department. They quoted over $1000 in various repairs that I honestly thought were not necessary. I figured it must be a liability not to say everything that could possibly go wrong in the car in the next 10 years, so I let it slide and declined all the services they suggested. My mom, however, felt nervous about her car, so I took it to my mechanic in Bristol who has been working on Subaru's and other foreign cars for over 30 years. My mechanic laughed at the mention of Quality Subaru and said even for a dealership, they're insanely greedy about diagnosing problems and trying to upsell to customers. He inspected the car and found absolutely nothing wrong with it. At another time, my brother took his Subaru down the road from Quality Subaru to get a part for his window. The mechanic literally a block from the place told him not to order anything but an official Subaru part, yet STILL warned my brother NOT to order from Quality Subaru because he said they are dishonest. My brother ordered from a different Subaru dealership on the mechanic's advice. These are two separate incidents involving a male and female customer and two separate mechanics who both consider not Subaru itself, but specifically QUALITY SUBARU to be dishonest. I cannot support this kind of local business. Stop ripping off my family.

I wholeheartedly recommend anyone looking for a car, especially a used car, to consider Steve Canada at Quality Subaru. His help was indispensable as I chose a used sedan that would fit my budget and my needs. He never tried to oversell me, was always upfront about helping me to weigh my long-term spending, and most of all, is a car guy himself, and answers questions with comfort. Test driving with him was great because he was able to say what things to pay attention to and made sure the car was absolutely in the shape I was hoping it to be when driving it off the lot. I think the biggest reason, though, that I would recommend him is that he checked in after the fact to make sure everything was going good with the car, and he made sure his service team resolved a noise. I've never had a dealer go this far with providing service--usually once the car is off the lot, they wash their hands of you. But this wasn't the case with Steve at all. Finally, Steve has just been so personable and talks to you like you're a person he's actually interested in talking to, not just a customer. I'd be happy to work with him again on my next purchase and to recommend him to even my closest friends and family.

I bought my Crosstrek here over a decade ago and have gotten it serviced here ever since so this review focuses on the service department. One of the things I like best about the service department is that they really don't try to upsell you on services you do not need. They will certainly point out any problems they think warrant attention, but they don't give you the hard sell. They do a very good job explaining everything. And one of the best qualities about the service department is how warm and welcoming the space is. They have a ton of varied seating areas ranging from comfy lounge chairs to work stations replete with electrical outlets so you can plug in your devices. There is also a high tech coffee maker which can instantly concoct myriad tasty coffee drinks. All in all, these things create a very comfortable environment while you await the completion of your repairs.

I have had very awful experiences at the service department here. Each time I take my car in for service, I receive a call about a different issue that I should pay them to fix. These issues are usually unrelated to the maintenance I brought the car in for, and some of them have been obscenely overpriced. Because I don't have thousands to throw around, I always get large repairs double checked by another mechanic. Particularly the ol' cam cases repair that they seem to be a little famous for (I've seen at least three other customers complain about this quote, all female customers - must be a coincidence). According to Quality Subaru, they are the only mechanics trained to recognize and quote this repair, since every other mechanic I've been to said it is unnecessary and extremely overpriced. One mechanic even showed me the area that was supposedly \

Steve, Steve, he's our man, if he can't do it, no one can! This was the best car buying experience I have had since I've been buying cars. Trying to buy a car is usually stressful. Add in a pandemic and a microchip shortage...you wouldn't know it by visiting Quality Subaru! I was able to test drive a Crosstrek (which I couldn't do at 2 other locations). My car arrived in less than a week. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Steve knew my husband's coffee preference by the second visit (they have an amazing coffee machine). I would not hesitate for even a second suggesting Steve and Quality Subaru. I love my Crosstrek and can't wait to but another in a few years!

Hey ladies, do you have an extra $2400 you'd like to donate to a car dealership? Stop in at the parts and service department of Quality Subaru! I went there for an oil change and OF COURSE they had to play the game of "How d*** is this single woman"? Well, they threw a good hand at me. An hour after dropping my car off, I get "THE CALL". Women definitely know what that call is. It's when the mechanic calls to tell you about all the OTHER things that are wrong with your car. Well, this time it was the "cam cases". (those are the valve covers... I've never heard them called cam cases either). They claimed both sides were leaking and needed to be fixed before winter or my car would literally go up in smoke. They quoted $2400 for this job. I tried not to laugh soda out of my nose and declined the work. Just in case there was something wrong with the valve covers, I took my Subaru to an expert mechanic down the street who has been working on high end American and import cars for over 30 years. He called me back in an hour with his verdict, and PICTURES. first, he explained that in order to properly see the valve covers, the shield over the engine must be removed. Access panels would not suffice. He could tell that the shield had not even been touched. Then he showed me pictures of the "cam cases" and the surrounding areas. My car was dry as a bone. Not a drop of leakage. He confirmed what I thought. This was a complete scam. But wait, there's more! The price of repairing this problem, had there been one, would be around $250 parts and labor at this private, high end mechanic's shop. In fact, replacing the entire head gasket would cost less than the $2400 Subaru quoted me. My mechanic didn't even charge me for inspecting the car. He and I were both pretty pissed but not shocked that yet another dealership tried to scam a woman. The problem is, scamming for $2400 is not cute "boys will be boys" fun. It's THEFT. The mechanic at Subaru DIDN'T EVEN LOOK AT MY CAR before trying to extort $2400 from me. Soooo, I gave Subaru a chance to respond. I visited Jonathan, the mechanic who looked at my car and diagnosed the cam cover issue IN WRITING. I showed him what he wrote and the pictures my mechanic sent me of my car. When I explained the situation, Jonathan did not apologize, he literally laughed in my face. This is the QUALITY of service at Quality Subaru. They lost my business, obviously. p.s. 70% of automotive purchases are made or verified by women. Maybe they should start respecting us a little more.

We've had inconsistent experiences here. Sometimes recall or warranty work, but usually service department when we come. They aren't always great about communication and timing. Because of this, we really only use them when we have no other choice. This department has been remodeled, so it's nice.

Installed non Subaru remote starter when new car was purchased; replaced with Subaru remote start when first one was acting up. Starter was nonfunctional after one year, car brought to service at another dealership - team at this second dealership noticed that wires were dangerously placed, starter should not have been dangling from underneath steering wheel; literal fire hazard.. Needless to say, I would not recommend getting a remote start installed here.

I have nothing but positive experiences with quality Subaru. Their parts department is great, very friendly and helpful. The service department has been great too. I can't speak to the sales department.

This was our very first Subaru purchase. Our salesman John Melchoire at Quality Subaru in Wallingford, CT was wonderful! Answered all of our questions, took his time with us and explained all of the features of our new Subaru Crosstrek. When we were there just browsing he gave us the same attention and time we needed. Never felt pressured or rushed. I am a nurse and I have to say I was highly impressed with all of the staff keeping things clean and wiping everything down continuously. This was the first time purchasing a car that I did not walk out feeling like I was screwed over! I will defiantly recommend this dealership to friends.

My partner recently bought a new Subaru here, and the sales Person was outstanding. In addition I own a Subaru and have used their service for years now, and have had nothing but outstanding service. The service team is caring, genuine and hardworking, they also seem to put our safety and our satisfaction first. We won't be going anywhere else.

I brought my car in to fix a recalled airbag, where the recall is listed online as a recall for my specific car. When I got to the dealership, they told me no such recall existed despite everything written online by Subaru. They fixed a separate recall, but also tried to tell me I needed several thousand dollars in repairs for something else completed unrelated. I said no, brought it to two other mechanics and they both said the issue I supposedly had was absolutely not a problem with this engine, and even if it was, the quote I got was astronomical and completely ridiculous for the work. Do not get service done here, please, go to a different dealership.
