Same review as everyone else. Got a rental Tesla 3 with a slit tire and low tire pressure. Asked to change it and they told us to take it to Firestone and they would change the tire for free. I'm sorry, do I get paid by Hertz for doing their job? Manager is rude to everyone that calls or walks in the door. They have other Tesla 3s on the lot but say they don't.It's inconvenient enough to have our own Tesla hit in a parking lot and have to get it repaired. To top it off with rude unprofessional employees that give you a broken down car is just another slap in the face.I hope this manager gets fired by Hertz. She clearly hates her job and has no interest in helping anyone.

Gave us a car that has an overpowering smell of weed with air fresheners to cover the smell that are horrible. The gas tank was on E with the gas light lit up. ( never ever seen that in a rental) Won’t take a debit card so make sure you have a credit card. Rude staff that aren’t helpful. This particular hertz is horrific!! Stay away!!!

Manger was unprofessional, gave my daughter and I an ear full about another employee as she told me there wasn’t any Tesla 3 available but clearly it was. Then the computer supposedly lost internet where my reservation was lost so she to input all my information back. Then Refused to acknowledge my reservation through AAA. 0 out of 10 I don’t recommend

This location in particular is absolutely horrible, from the time the rental was picked up there has been mechanical issues. The staff at this location wouldn’t even put us into another vehicle. I strongly wouldn’t recommend ever renting a car from this location not to mention they are very rude to customers. The supervisor Jenn is very nasty and races and have no respect for customers.

TL;DR - I rented a Tesla and then I was lying to about swapping vehicles and then was forced to keep the Tesla and the entire rental, despite the fact that I had no use for it. ?I rented a Tesla from this location and called them immediately to tell them that they did not have the adapter for me to be able to use the many NON Tesla chargers available. ?I also noticed that I was really unable to drive the car because of the difficulties of getting used to it, especially considering it's a rental, and I don't have the time to be learning how to drive a new car at this time.?Did not know that Tesla cars do not drive at all like regular cars, and never heard of one pedal driving.?I picked up my car on Friday, and just dropped it off 6 days later for Thursday. ?We drove the car exactly zero times to do pretty much anything. Just once to try to charge it.?The reason for my very bad review, is because I contacted the rental place and told them that I was having issues within a few hours of getting home with the vehicle. I asked if I could swap the vehicle for a different one and was told to come back the next day at 3:00.?I came back at 3:00, and they were closed. Not only that they would not be opening for a few more days because of Christmas and so now I'm renting a car I can't even use.?Christmas ends and now it's Tuesday and I only have 2 days left on the rental so at this point I pretty much just give up.?I bring back the Tesla, and I received no sympathy from anyone over at Hertz Rent-A-Car, I was charged full price of course despite the fact that I could not use the car and I made this very clear to them. And then I check my receipt and they tell me they were doubling the amount that I initially agreed to because they " had to clean out the smoke from the vehicle".Nobody smokes in the vehicle, we weren't even using the vehicle, much less smoking and joy riding. So beyond the fact that I could not use the car, they attempted to explore an additional $450 on top of the 350 for the rental agreement.Although they did clear it up and say it was a mistake, If I had passed over that email, I would have been charged without even knowing it.So they lied to me about switching, they didn't warn me that the car was going to be a little difficult to drive compared to a gas car, and when I attempted to reach out to swap the car, I was met with enthusiasm that turned out to be blatantly lying to me.The only people that I'm okay with were the person who helped me in person to pick up the rental, and that was about it.If possible stay away from this location, because if you rent the car they might say they want to take 450 additional dollars for something you didn't even do.Not sure if that's some kind of scammy behavior they do to people, but they did it to me.Any other rental place would have been a much better choice. I made a mistake by choosing them, and they made a mistake by lying to someone who can consistently destroy the reputation of the company without any help.Overall summary - do not use Hertz rent a car. Use anyone else if possible.

Today i went to pick up a reservation my fiance had reserved for our vacation, we needed it this day. I went in and told the gentlemen i had a reservation that was under my name. He stated that i needed the debit card that was used to pay for the vehicle(Not once was this mentioned when we reserved the vehicle), obviously i didn't have this card because my fiance made the reservation, so this lady walked out of this dark gloomy room and stated we can not do it because of fraudulent reasons(she was not exactly sympathetic or pleasant to deal with) , mind you they have my license in hand. So i suggested multiple solutions. 1. Can I face-time my fiance and she can show you the card answer was "No" 2. Can i just put my card on file the answer was also "No" 3. Can you just refund her card and charge my card answer also was "No". So i left disappointed and went straight to Enterprise, they stated they only had a Truck i could rent(I needed a SUV or Van), so after over hearing my conversation with my fiance Enterprise decided they would speed clean a vehicle and get it ready for me in less then 20-30 mins and worked over there closing time to make this happen. Enterprise also had a line, when i went into Hertz it was absolutely empty in there and that should say a lot. Hopefully this location gets a revamp because it is just plan old sad. Do better!(Just for the record we spent 550 dollars at Hertz)

Made a reservation Monday morning for a two-week Tesla rental and the booking process was smooth. Said 24 cars available (LOL).The night before I was to pick up my car, I received a call kindly informing me that they had no cars available, and that the earliest they expected to have cars was four days out. They were cancelling all reservations made that week.I don't understand how they allow you to reserve a car only to not have cars when your day comes around but it leaves you helpless to get another reservation because they wait until the last moment to tell you.Rent from Hertz in Wallingford at your own peril.

We reserved a car 2.5 weeks ago for tomorrow for a cross country move. Then we received a call at 6:30pm today telling us that our car was given to somebody else! The woman on the phone was very not understanding and rude to my wife. This hertz left us with less than 24 hours to find a new rental car. I have left a complaint with corporate and am emailing another one.

Can't continue wasting my time and money with them. The vehicles are very poorly maintained. I had to take a 14 hour drive with a slow leak tire and a filthy windshield. Visibly was awful and had to stop for air every 20 miles. Some spots charged $3 for air. Lol

I've rented 3 times out of necessity here and each time the car is substandard, dirty with exceptionally high miles. I would not recommend this location unless you have no other alternative.

I hate to give bad reviews but this place sucks. I will say the two women working there when I went are not to blame, they did their best and were working hard to meet customer expectations. No cars on the lot. I saw so many reservations canceled while I was there and mine was almost canceled as well but was willing to take a car that reeked of smoke just so I had something. The girls worked hard to clean it quick but after I left I noticed the front tires were pretty beat and there was a dent in the front of the car. Enterprise has always walked around the car with me prior to me taking it to look for damage but they did not. The girls were swamped so I understand but hope it’s not going to turn into a problem. Also if you have your reservation canceled, what did you actually reserve? It’s not that hard. If you have 20 cars don’t promise cars to 30 people.

As a frequent customer for business and personal, I have had issues here and there with Hertz overall which I’ve tried to be understanding of, but I’m done with this company after dealing with this specific location.Twice now I reserved a car online. Numerous types of cars available, paid and reserved a car only for them to call the day of the reservation a day or two after the reservation saying they have no cars available. These weren’t holiday weekends either where perhaps they became swamped w reservations. Latest one was the night before where they showed 15+ cars available, I reserved/paid, and first thing the morning of they call and say they have no cars. This caused me to almost miss flights for work as I had to quickly arrange other transportation. How hard is it to keep an updated inventory? Isn’t this done automatically in the system anyway? How car 15+ cars be available and then 8 hours there are none? Makes no sense.Oh and you can’t call them directly either to confirm your reservation and if they have the car you reserved available for you, you have to go through corporate and they just tell you to book online. Done with Hertz and will share my story with my company if they want to do the same.Looks like from other reviews that my experience is extremely common at this location.
