This is a charming lodge with excellent food and excellent service. There is a summer and winter menu. The dishes are good and well matched to the season. We particularly love the calamari. The greatest asset to this establishment is the staff. They are just so pleasant and kind.

Attended the Easter Buffet. It was good with a variety of food. Taken to a table right away. Service was top notch. The building has rustic character and charm that I appreciate and in a beautiful setting. The only thing I didn't like (and never have liked anywhere) is being served at a buffet. They tend to give me more food than I would take myself. I hate wasting food. The only person serving should be at the carving station, in my opinion.

The Tamarack Lodge is the PERFECT place to host a special event. We threw my mom’s surprise 70th birthday party here and I’m so happy we chose this venue to celebrate. The atmosphere is so rustic and beautiful and the food is AMAZING. The staff was so friendly and accommodating throughout the entire planning process and at the event (thank you Donna and Stephanie!). Everyone was so responsive and helpful, and really helped make my mom’s 70th birthday so memorable for her and all of the guests. I highly recommend!

Similar to Elizabeth's review I would say the ambiance is beautiful and the coordinator, Amylu, who I was beyond lucky enough to get at the time (because they kept changing as Elizabeth stated as well) was absolutely incredible and was the saving grace for my wedding last June. However, after signing a contract with the original owners John and Valoree in 2021, who were beyond sweet and accommodating, the venue sold to new owners and nobody mentioned the changing of hands or new policies. The accommodations we were promised were not there at the time of the wedding which was very disappointing and we rolled with it. However it showed an extreme lack of professionalism in the way that nobody would communicate with customers who had events scheduled with the former owners. The new owners acted as though they were doing us favors and as though they have a functioning and high end glamping experience for guests, which was far from reality. They ended up starting with construction on the site and getting rid of previously promised accommodations of cabins for family guests. I had to chase down information by tediously emailing several coordinators back and forth. The other issue I had was that the owner didn't want to hire a bartender for my wedding and decided he would do it himself though he did not know how to make many drinks and was also over serving guests as well, a serious lack of professionalism. I was lucky enough to have had Amylu, a godsend in the week leading up to the wedding and the actual day of, but every other interaction with the venue was nerve-wracking to say the least, especially given the upcharge in pricing.

Two stars because the venue itself is very pretty and my wedding did end up happening. However everything else was a nightmare. When the new people took over everything changed. First - no one informed us that the ownership had changed or that our contract was no longer valid. Then we had to work with four different coordinators and each time the new coordinator had no information that we had given the previous coordinator. Communication was awful. Promises were made and then never kept. So many things were changed and we were never told about those changes.Even basic questions took weeks to get answered and then answers changed many times. Prices tripled and they acted as though that was my fault and made me feel cheap for asking for the original agreed-upon price. They acted as though They were doing me a favor by even having my wedding there however had I’ve been told of the situation I would have never had my wedding there. The day of my wedding I was sick all day because I was worried that they would cancel or do something else to ruin the day for me. Any time I Talked to anybody from the venue I felt as though I was the problem.

Where do I start?Back when Val and John owed the Tamarack Lodge, I signed a contract to use this site as my wedding venue. I knew when signing that the Tamarack was for sale and could end up becoming new ownership. I was told that this would not change my contract. Since Val left, I have only met the new owner once. And there have been a total of three different wedding coordinators that I have had to work with, they just keep changing. Due to some family emergencies I have made changes to our wedding plans and sent a notice in writing that I needed to cancel the contract. I sent first notice on 5/27/22, and many other notices since then without receiving any kind of response. Unprofessional. I am still waiting for some kind of acknowledgement from them, and looking for money I have already paid to be returned to me.Unfortunately it won’t let me respond to the comment that was made after I posted this so I will just add this here. I have worked with Heather, Kathy and when I messaged Kathy got an email that now it is Amylu. Communication is everything and I never once got that from you as the owner. You never reached out to introduce yourself. Amylu should have also introduced herself and I should have been aware of the changes. Things changed with my package and things were added that I did not want, it became unmanageable and almost doubled in price. Kathy had told us that the cabin block needed to be paid by us and we could ask guests to reimburse us, and that since we added a cabin black we had no option but to do an open bar. There were just things that could have been fixed, but it is far too late now.Update, as of 6/8/22 the only response I have received is this reply here on my google review. Poor communication, absolutely horrible. No emails back, no calls to let me know what is going on, nothing. I have sent follow up email, after follow up email, and I can't get anywhere. Very unfortunate and definitely glad my wedding plans have changed because this is not what I would have wanted for my big day.

I went to the 2cd Annual Country Music Fest. The grounds opened at 12:30 and the Music Fest started at 1. We got their at 12:45. The port o johns were just arriving. There were 3. There were hundreds of people the by 1:30. The line to use these port o johns were long. I waited 20 minutes. There should have been twice as many facilities. No where in the advertisement for this festival did it say there was a $15 parking fee on top of the ticket price. The line for food was long, very very long. Food was pricey but thats to be expected. It just seemed like the place was not prepared.

We had confirmed reservations, brought friends that had to travel. Arrived at 6:00, nobody there, they canceled the nights event without contacting us, very unprofessional. Will never go again.
