While the staff was friendly, and the store was clean, the sign for facial recognition was off to the corner, where you couldn’t really see it. I went in looking for the sign and it took me time to find it! The store uses facial recognition at various locations within the store. If this was simply for theft purposes, and internally it would be understandable. Not great, but understandable. They don’t use just use models to people detect but facial recognition. I saw no signs for where the cameras we’re detecting, but I was only there for a few minutes getting an orange juice.Think about what you’re doing ShopRite. Are you a grocery store or a communications/data company?I would like to see a little more transparency by ShopRite, as to how they actually use the data from the facial recognition. The only thing we know is from the news and they said that ShopRite is sharing that data with law-enforcement.

I've been going to ShopRite for 3 months now. I previously was shopping at Aldi and Big y. I like ShopRite better, they have great prices, a clean store and helpful staff. Even their non-sale items are a better price than the competition.

Biometric data of your FACE is collected in every time you enter. Remember, this is not just if you steal, its EVERY TIME no matter what. That personal, sensitive data is collected and wholly owned by a private company that can store, use and abuse it any way they please, all while many people don't even know. Theft is a problem, but stealing peoples privacy in response is absolutely disgusting.

They are violating the law and illegally collecting and storing bio facial recognition data of minors as they enter the store. The Store is doing this without their parents consent.

They are using biometric data to identify and record customers. When it became public they are doing so they moved the sign disclosing it away from the entrance to behind the customer service counter where it is harder to see.Big paranoid brother has now come to your local grocery store.

TL:DR - Decent chain with acceptable prices and decent selection. They, however, have a terrible, anti-consumer Customer Service desk. Check your receipts carefully, directly at the checkout counter and make sure your entire cart was rung up correctly and at the correct prices. Go ahead, make all the people behind you wait impatiently, because otherwise you’re never getting your money back.I did not do this, drove home and started making food for my family. While doing that and putting away groceries, I glanced at the receipt and noticed a -huge- error. They had a “this stuffs about to go bad” sale on a product, so I purchased the entire shelf since I have the freezer space.Long story short, the marked product was much cheaper than the surrounding products, and this particular product did not have the “limit of 4” listed on the label. I would assume to get rid of it. So I drove allllll the way back to the store after dinner and showed a picture of the shelf and the receipt. The clerk needed all of the physical items right in front of her, which would have required me to drive all the way home, then bring them all the way back. Then drive all the way home, again. 3 round trips, 6 drives.Get the F out of here. Gas prices and inflation what they are right now?! The error was easily $15 dollars in my favor, making one return trip worth it, but not two return trips as well as the hour or so of time it would have cost.Seriously ShopRite. It was $15 dollars. FIFTEEN. Out of the literal tens of thousands I have spent at your store. You’ve got a trash policy. I’ll make sure and check things over very slowly every time I visit now, holding up the lines, since now I know mistakes are nickel n’ dimed to attempt and avoid the refunds. And I advise everyone else do the same.

Here we go. Went to do bottles. As soon arrived a employee was standing at the entrance of the bottle area watching. Blocking the door. Would not talk to me until I ask what's up.Was told make sure that me doesn't create a mess. Then when a bottle came up that was filled I was yelled at where to dump it. Finally he left replaced with another watching. Insult saying I can't use the garbage can, can't use the soap, should be nicer to machines. So finally went in to cash the tickets. The guy made snide comments. I asked where should I bill because apparently I'm now staff that he thinks he can boss around. So leaving the second employee was talking to another in the parking lot to another employee. I said did I pass? Your not getting carts. There isn't any but apparently you can be a boss to stalk me. I was then yelled at.Absolutely pathetic

Ok, but I find that the scooters are not kept charged for customers who need to use them. I find myself having to go where I can be accommodated and be able to shop for what I need and not have to do it in pain. I have not been having to use them but I fell 5/2019 and it has been a challenge to say the least.I find that it would be great if the scooters have regular maintenanceso we have no problem I'm the middle of the storeAlso it would be nice if your stores accept insurance type debit cardsI was told only Walmart acknowledge the ones from UHC.

It was very nice and clean, but the loud mouth behind the deli counter should focus or talk about work not gossiping.
