I've been with this credit union since 2009 and loved them for years I had no problems up until the last few years it's been nothing but attitude from everybody who worked there because yes, I have talked to almost everyone and they all have some type of attitude or just don't like to help people. I've had multiple car loans and a credit card through this credit union, and the last time I tried to get a car loan through them they went deep into my credit history and asked me a bunch of questions about small discrepancies on my credit and made me feel inadequate for either falling on hard times or not being able to explain why my credit score has fluctuated. It's harder to get approved for things with the same credit score I had several years ago and you'll always get a nasty attitude from the loan department and even the tellers when I call in or go in. I still have a loan with them so when I pay it off I'll be going somewhere else. It was def a great starter credit Union when I was 19 and they had different people working there.

I have been a member of this credit union for about a year now. I opened the account because it's close to work and it was recommended by a co worker. On Friday I asked my boyfriend to make the 35 minute drive from our home to deposit $100 into my account. He had to go inside the bank because there are no ATMs outside that he could make this deposit through. Anyway, he walked inside and immediately all eyes were on him. No one greeted him just stares. He went up to the teller explaining that he would like to make a deposit into my account, he had my info in hand. Rose , the teller told him he could not deposit money because he was not an account holder. My boyfriend went on to repeat himself that it was a deposit and again Rose told him he could not make a deposit. Confused he simply said ok thank you. Moments later I get a phone call from the teller and she says that a man came in wanting to make a deposit into my account. She was shaken, her voice was cracking, I agreed and said yes. She said she did not allow him to make the deposit even though she said he did want make a deposit. I asked her why she didn't "allow" him to. She said " I dont know why, I didn't know what he wanted well he did say he wanted to make a deposit but but but he didn't have any cash in his hand." RIDICULOUS!!!!!!!! So, I am warning all other people who do not look like Rose to beware she may not grant you banking services because she doesn't know why. I KNOW WHY!

I have been a member for over 15 years.I have written great review after great review. They were the best!!They took a chance on me years ago, and approved a secured loan for me to help me build my credit.2 secured, 2 personal, and 2 car loans later, I don’t know what happened. ( let me say, I have NEVER defaulted on a loan here, so that is not an issue)About 2 years ago, things seemed to change. Service became less friendly. Technology worse ( 2 times my direct deposits were not available due to their outdated system). And most recently, their denial of a small personal loan request. ( I understand that not all loans are approved, but my situation was better than in the past, and the reason why was poor)Friendly service replaced with indifferent, and sometimes rude people.I still have a car loan here, but will be going elsewhere. Already opened an account at another bank.A big loss for Torrington. They used to be the best

Down right terrible. I joined my wife at this bank years ago and ever since I’ve opened her eyes to how terrible their service and system is. As soon as we can we will be leaving and going to a much better place. I’ve expressed my frustration many times with employees of this bank.

Only been a member for less than a year and already thinking of closing my account.At first everyone seemed so friendly but the last couple of times I had to interact with the tellers was not positive. One visit I found that the gal was kind of snippy and I left feeling inadequate.Next time was a different teller that I had dealt with before but this time she didn't smile even once and seemed put off because she had to wait on me. Maybe a bad day? Not an excuse. I try not to go inside if I don't have to because I don't like wondering how I'll be welcomed. There are plenty of places to bank.

I have been a member for 15+ years. Although the staff is very friendly and professional I am seriously thinking about switching banks. This credit unions technology is horrible. The newer banking app that is supposed to be modern and more convenient is awful. I was told when it came out that mobile deposits made before 2pm on business days would hit my account the same day. That is not the case. Now they are saying two business days! It is faster to go to the bank and deposit to get the money in your account instantly. It is very inconvenient for me to keep running to the bank running a small business. Waiting for these checks to clear with this app is not convenient. I have been loyal to this bank but with the technology being dinosaur age along with waiting for the mobile app deposits to hit my account is also very frustrating when they told me one thing and it is the total opposite. After using for-profit banks for years, I switched to local credit unions and never looked back! My first experience was with First Bristol (in Bristol, CT), and when I moved to Torrington, I switched to TMTFCU.TMTFCU is great. Friendly, small-town family atmosphere, flexibility when you need it, and prompt, courteous service, all delivered with a smile!Thanks for a great experience! Looking forward to banking with TMTFCU for many more years.

Have had accounts with TMTFCU for over 15 years. Very helpful and friendly staff. Always try to accommodate the customer. I recommend them to anyone looking for a local bank that is willing to work with the customer and not just your account balance!
