I drive from my town to the next town over to buy at Ponte's. You can tell that the owner was "raised right"... he is a true gentleman, as are all of his employees, including his son, Will, Mike N., Mr. Murtaugh, and more. They have the best customer service as well as a fabulous selection of wines, beer, and liquor. Stop in to Ponte's. You won't be disappointed!

GREAT STORE!! I grew up in Harwinton (and came back recently to help my elderly mom in the old homestead). Tried the Harwinton liquor stores I remembered from my younger days here (Liquor Lad in Harwinton Center and Tony's on Birge Park Road)...but...meh on the customer service. Oh well...but then I discovered Ponte's Liquor store in Torrington after a visit to the Dollar Tree next door. I was greeted enthusiastically by more than one employee...very nice! And EVERY time I went in there subsequently I was consistently greeted and offered help if I needed it. Because they are so CONSISTENT in making me feel welcome, and letting me know I can ask for help any time without feeling like I'm inconveniencing them, this is my new liquor store of choice. I highly recommend this store for the old fashioned, CONSISTENT customer service, as well as the wide selection of liquor, beer and wine they keep in stock!

The best package store in town, bar none. Employees are friendly, helpful and overall great people. On the off chance they don’t have what you’re looking for, a simple conversation and a weeks time, you will see what you wanted on the shelf. Cannot reiterate enough how great of a package store this is, I will not shop at any other package store besides Pontes.

Pretty good spot with on par prices for most stuff. I came here for tonic while I was shopping and they do have fever tree brand but it's ALL the way in the back most corner of the store. It was covered in dust but was still fizzy when I got home and cleaned up the 4 pack.
